Internet Explorer 7 runs on my computer. Not a one of public betas for Internet Explorer ran on my computer.
As per usual with one of Windows' "upgrades" or "improvements", I am thoroughly unimpressed. I have had nothing but trouble with I.E. 7 since I installed it. Pages load MUCH slower than before, even with the miserable 'phishing filter' turned off, and half the time I get the ever-so-aggravating "This page cannot be displayed" memo. I had the same miserable experience with the much-touted "Live One Care" program. I am quite dissappointed by my recent experiences with Microsoft products, and it really makes me wonder about the stability of VISTA---if it ever actually gets launched, that is. I had intended to upgrade to Vista after it had been out for a few months, as many new upcoming software programs I would like to use will rely heavily on the Vista driver model. As it stands right now, I've had enough and am going back to I.E. 6 and Firefox, and am even considering a new MAC.
My next computer will NOT be a Windows enviorment. I have grown extremely unhappy with windows.Don't get me started
Reading all these comments I am grateful I did not try the Explorer 'Upgrade'having been burned by too many supposed "New & Improved" programs.I avoid upgrades and new versions like the plague.Im convinced that 'page not found' results are by design. Many times I must access pages via other means. Encountering a 'page not found' does not stop me from trying & most often succeeding in getting to the subject matter the censors loathe.
But I can't customize it as extensively as I can Firefox or Opera (like in about:config). And I don't like the privacy controls and how I can't set rules for cookies before I go to sites.
I just don't think Microsoft is trying to even win over developers or techies anymore, and are ceding this demographic to Firefox. IE7 is for people who don't want a lot of control and want simplicity. The thing is Firefox delivers in that area too. I'm not impressed with IE7. Not yet.
Well let's see. What are my gripes with IE7? NONE!! Considering, I don't use their bloated piece of software.
Firefox. It's new. It spell checks text boxes. It makes your coffee. It isn't MS. What's not to like?
I donīt have any complaints about IE becaus e I donīt use it...as a matter of fact I donīt know why people are still using that garbage when you can have Firefox...is there really a IE7 out there???
That's what this whole forum thread is about. I'm using IE7 to type this reply.
I read work email using Outlook Web access from home and for some reason when sending a message (New, Reply, or Forward), the browser faults and shuts down. Reported the problem in a forum and no one could figure it out, so I went back to IE6.
Another buggy product released too soon.
I like FireFox much more. FireFox has better interface and this best developed.
I have been waiting years for a browser that is capable of printing most pages properly.
IE7 seems to do it well.
Mozilla actually was pretty good in this regard, but FireFox dropped this feature (or hid it really well).
You can choose Print Preview from File menu in Firefox just as you can in IE7. It's not hidden anywhere. Now IE finally offers the same level of print functionality as Firefox.

I never cared for IE6, Firefox, or Opera, but I do like MSN Premium.
When IE7 came out, I was skeptical, but installed it anyway, since I hardly ever used IE, anyway.
Well, as it turns out I like it a lot.
I don't have a problem with the layout and the tabs work better for me than they did when I would try Firefox.
It still seems a bit quirky in some ways, but I'm getting used to it.
I think that so far it's a winner, even though I will continue to use MSN Premium for the time being, but in time I just might ditch that service in favor of IE7 along with my Comcast account, which has some of the same perquisites as MSN Premium.
It is about time that the morons at microsoft decided to get caught up with a tabbed browser..... all I have got to say.... wildhunt57
There is really nothing to like about IE7 ... everything that IE7 is doing, Firefox has been doing for years. I've changed over to Firefox since it's initial 0.7 release, and haven't looked back. It really enhanced my browsing experience. IE7 lacks that impact, it is basically a copy Firefox, so I have no reasons to use it. Especially considering Firefox 2.0 has just been released, making the best browser on the market even better.

I downloaded this browser and sat back looking at it for a few minutes, trying to make heads or tails out it's unintuitive interface.
Where IE 6 had all its optional controls logically laid out, and conveniently grouped together, now this piece of crap had them spread out and buried all over the place.
And when I tried to rearange the toolbar so it would be more compact, and make sense, IE 7 refused to allow this to happen.
Things really went downhill from there.
Suffice it to say, if this is any indication as to what we are to expect from Vista, then God help us all.
This has to have been thrown together by a bunch of crack monkey's just before the 10:30 meeting last Wednesday.
I have never seen anything so poorly laid out, come out of Redmond, as this piece of garbage.
Why is it that they always think that changing things will somehow improve it?
Change, just for the sake of change, is always a bad idea.
Why couldn't they just have given us IE 6 with the extra security of IE 7.
At least IE 6 was customizable, and intuitive.
IE 7 is neither.
I really can not in good conscience recommend this to any business, unless they enjoy hearing their employee's complain.
Maybe it's time we all moved on to Firefox 2.
At least that browser is easy to use and provides the security most of us require.
Go back to the IE 6 interface Microsoft, or risk losing a lot of customers.
It's your choice.
I'm not about to unleash this level of stupidity on over 100 computers I have charge over.
We'll stick with IE 6 and take our chances until I have a sufficient amount of time to test Firefox 2, or MS finds a way to provide the security to IE 6 that IE 7 supposedly has.
