xbox 360/pc through a router?

by adepippo - 10/24/06 1:11 PM

Hello,

Hoping someone maybe able to help...Basically, I wish to put my xbox360 through the same modem as my pc. I can run both individually through the router, with no problems.

I got hold of a second hand router (has been tested - 100% okay) called a unex nexhub HD080.

I can run my pc through the router with no issues, I just cannot connect my 360 through it at all. The 360 says it cannot find IP etc, but when I manually input the ip it says it cannot be found.

Any ideas, I have looked through Microsoft and unex help pages to no avail.

Thanks,

adepippo

Cool, I was informed I could use this to do what I was trying, guess I'll have to buy one, any suggestions for a router?

Thanks a lot,

Which router?

Hard to tell since I don't know your country's offerings.

Linksys, dlink, netgear all seem fine here.

HIGH SPEED CABLE ?

It can be run through a router via high speed cable - this I know. The router manual will demonstrate the configuration. Read the manual, because it will take 9 paragraphs to go into detail.

Hello,

Thanks for the response, I don't have a manual, as it's second hand - from their website, I read the pdf and it's particularly unhelpful.

Have you any suggestions for a decent router?

Thanks again.
