My Toshiba DLP hates my laptop!
by gbedford - 10/23/06 4:41 PMI have 56" Toshiba DLP (56HM165) rear projection. It looks amazing. I'm getting HD from my cable box and I love it. However, in my instruction book, it tells me to NEVER hook up a computer to it. I'd love to run some HD WMA files on my laptop and jack into one of the HDMI ports ( I have a DVI to HDMI adapter and DVI out on my notebook).
I have an xbox 360 hooked up to running at 720P and if I can hook video games to it, why not a computer? I figure I would be safe if I output at 1280 x 720.
If anyone could chime in on this, I'd truly appreciate it.

It should run OK at 720p from your laptop.
This warning it just CYA on the part of the companies.
A xbox is a computer!!! John

by stewart norrie - 10/25/06 4:30 PM In reply to: My Toshiba DLP hates my laptop! by gbedfordAfter 6 months lamp blew. contacted Toshiba and was told lamps were factory defective and were being recalled, I received fed ex new lamp in two days the new lamp really looked beffy and has a blue tint to it also toshiba is extended lamp warrenty to 2 years I notice with the new lamp the tint is perfect and is super super bright you can set brightness and contrast at 40% , low power and still get a bright picture also how do you like your h.m. series t.v. I sure love the picture on mine good l;uck to you all steweee
