DVD subtitles

by Yabadabadingdong - 10/18/06 11:32 PM

I record onto MiniDV & would like to preserve the Date and time info from that format when transferring to DVD. What I dont want is the date & time "burned" onto the video image but to have it "on & off-able" say like with a DVD subtitle track?

Anything available that can do that?

Whilst we're here can someone confirm that DVD camcorders dont have the "on & off-able" view data track that Mini-DV offers. It may be another good reason to skip on that format for a camcorder.

Cheers!

The DCR-DVD205 DVD Handycam claims " Camera Information Date on Subtitle (Setup) OSD On/Off Button " which may be playable on your common DVD player and get the effect without fuss.

MiniDV however requires you to create the effect with software on the computer. I've searched for such software before for others so I'll decline this time.
