Hi:
I am buying a 40 or 42" LCD TV within the next month or so and want to know if I need any new audio equipement (specifically, the receiver) to be compatible with the LCDTV connections?
I currently have a Sony stereo receiver that is about 10 years old, works great and is hooked up to my current TV, Tivo, DVD recorder and two Boston Acoustics speakers.
I'd prefer not get a new audio setup at this point (with a plan to upgrade in the future). However, I don't want to get a new HD LCD TV and then find out I can't connect it to my stereo receiver. What connections should I look for, or do I need (in my new TV and/or in my receiver )?
I'd appreciate any help.
Also, if you need additional info to anwer this question, let me know.
Thanks.
No you need a new audio setup. You can just replace your current TV with the new one. john
You can use your stereo for now, and the good news is you can buy an excellent 5.1 digital A/V reeceiver for about $200-$500 Then I would contact Boston Acustics and let them know what model # speakers you own , so you can buy the rest of your speakers that will match the ones you have good luck stewee
