Game boy micro?

by Glorybox3737 - 12/24/05 3:19 PM

So I'm concidering buying a micro. I was looking through user opinions and it seems to be filled with very few user opinions. Mostly reviews from people before the device ever came out or people who never used one. So I'd like the opinions of some one who's owned a micro before.

I want to know things about the screen, is the screen to small to read lettering (for RPGs)? Are the buttons hard to push? How is the sound from it? Does it have a solid build to it (I'm a clutz)?

Micro Review (from someone who actually owns it)

Got the black hardware Micro and an RPG (Sword of Mana) on Christmas Eve.

The screen is small but super clear - words and everything; the first time you use it your eyes may hurt, but after adjusting (in a day or couple of hours) its fine. The design is great, buttons are smooth and easy to push; i've got Shaq size hands and it still feels comfortable. I'd say it's solid, but I have yet to drop it though. The battery life lasted around 7 hours - with much tweaking of the brightness - out of a projected 10hrs; it probably could last longer. The one speaker sound isn't too great in loud places; you really need headphones for the full detail.

Overall I think the Micro is definitely worth the buy.

after many thoughts i too decided to buy one; i bought the silver gameboy micro. along with the gameboy i decided to buy mario advanced 3 and i loved it. it was something that i could enjoy on bus rides and the screen is amazing. it's clean and bright. along with the micro it's a great idea to also buy the play-yan import. it will allow you to watch video on the game boy.

Its Not A Wast

The Game Boy Micro Is, In My Opinion The Greatest Game Boy Yet. People Think The Screen Is Too Small But I Doubt They Have Ever Owned Or Even Touched One. I Own The Silver Version And Its Great, Im Surprised That So Many People Are Opposed To The No GB Or GBC Games On It But Hey If You Want To Play Older Games Get A Game Boy Color Or An SP. And With Durability It Is Small But Solid. By The Way I Play Golden Sun 1&2 And Final Fantasy Both RPGs And Tne Text Is Fine And The Sound Is Great It Is Loud Enough To Play When People Are Talking And Still Know Whats Going On. It Also Has Standard HeadPhone Port. A Plus For Me. And The Buttons Are Better Than The SPs, Not At All As Had On Your Fingers. And Of Course You Know About The FacePlates. I Like Em, Well Thats Bout It.

I Hope It Helps.

PS:The Screen Is More Crisp And Brighter Than Ever Before. Makes Games Look Very Nice Indeed.

own micro, great

I bought my GBM about 2 months ago and its just great!
The screen is small but it doesn't matter because the screen if anything has just as good a screen resolution. the backlight is so bright you can use it in full sunlight and it'll still be completely visible. The buttons aren't hard to push at all, if anything, the START and SELECT buttons are somewhat hard to push. The biggest downside to the micro is the speaker. The sound is so quiet and gets overpowered so easily I wouldn't have bought it if it didn't have a headphone jack. I don't know whether its solid or not but i'm pretty sure it is. The battery life is the most amazing thing. I've gotten it to last for about 12 hours!!

wouldnt recomend it..

I wouldnt recomend getting the gb micro, its just gba games, on a tiny hand held.
Its nintendo's attempt to get as much out of the gba as they can before they stop making them.
If you get it, you can expect major hand cramps, and the screen is tiny, so it would mess up your eye sight, like make you dizzy and stuff.
If you are wanting a gba for just the gba games, get a sp, cheaper and better looking :P

i already bought it months ago. loved it. the screen is great. bright and sharp. perfect fit in my hands. great portability and fun games. I recommend it to anyone looking to buy a gameboy that does't want to shell out the extra money for the DS.

On that note I also have the DS lite (came out a few months after i bought the micro) and i love it. My mom has my micro. She loves it. I love my ds...it's perfect.
