all players arent allowed to have fm recording anymore because of the stupid laws. i havent found a need to upgrade firmware anyways.

New Zen Players

Do people that haven't bought this player have to worry about this new firmware update? What I mean is, I plan to buy one, and I was wondering if the Zen M players that are sitting on the shelves at the store are affected by this update? Because if would be a bummer if I buy the player, and it already has the update installed.

Not affected

I just bought a Vision:M at circuit city today and it has firmware 1.4.X on it. 1.5 is the firmware in question.

I believe it is 1.5 but just read the fine print on the update if you like to record show off the radio. This is what I use this feature for.
