LG VX9900

by skUMD - 7/31/06 5:36 AM

Is there any other information out there about the LG VX9900? All I've heard is that it is coming out Sept 4, but what about any new capabilities/upgrades from the 9800? thanks!

LG VX9900

Found this on another forum....I have also found other forums that state the release was pushed back to the last of Sept.

"OKay so basically I have been researching this phone all day. It is the successor to the "V" phone for Verizon and if people aren' familiar with the V, this is it-

The new one is called the LG VX9900, or some are calling it the V2. It supposedly has a 2.0 MP camera, half the size of the V, and a lot of other improvements. Little is known about it though since Verizon and LG aren't releasing any information.

We know the phone exists because the FCC approved it, and there is only one picture of it floating around which is this one-

Before that had been released, many people had said they tested the phone and described that it had four lines of keyboard and it was black which are both correct. People that work for verizon got exclusive papers which first said the release date was going to be Sept. 4th., but now the release day is Sept 29.

I also called LG and they said the phone has shipped to all carriers that provide it (Verizon), but it is up to the carrier to decide when the phone would be released so they didn't know and an exact date, and when I called Verizon they didn't know either.

Also interesting was the "V" was recently pulled off shelves today by all Verizon stores but is still available on the online site. People at the store said they pulled it since an update is coming soon.

I just wanted to share a day's worth of researching with you guys! And incase you were wondering why I researched it, was because I was going to buy the V today (coincidently on the day it would be discontinued) and I thought to myself, I bet there is a new one coming out since it has been out for over a year. So sure enough there was, but still there is little information known since LG won't let the FCC leak anything. I am very excited about the new phone since I think the "V" is too bulky. Hope I helped at least one person, and if you find any news or photos, post them!!"

New release date

by ventemochalatte - 9/15/06 10:40 PM In reply to: Great Work!!! by chalinga

Update has surfaced on HoFo that new release date has been set to October 13. At this point, this is the most solid info. In the meantime pics will be circulating the web, shortly?

Samsung A990

The Samsung A990 has superb image quality. The image capture mechanism is kind of slow so it takes almost two seconds to take a picture but the result is quite good. Comparable to my digicam.
Take a look at some images captures with this phone here:

Verizon Said

by DrGillGrissom - 9/19/06 4:43 PM In reply to: LG VX9900 by skUMD

verizon said that there is no legal way to determine if the lg VX9900 is even a real phone--i know this is BS. mostly because the phones @ best buy i work @ are all deleted in the system and taken from the shelves, and the ones in the store are too...i am heavily anticipating this phone.

I have talked to sales reps in 3 different Verizon stores in Ohio and 2 in North Carolina and they had not even seen pictures of the phone yet. The last one I talked to said the sales staff has not received training on the 9900 (09/29/06) and they usually get training 30 days out from release. That is what the sales rep told me so that should probably be taken with a grain of salt. All I know is I cannot wait for this to come out and I hope it is worth the wait...and it looks like it should be.

I talked to a tech at the Verizon store in Redmond, Wa. who said that he had actually had one in his hands.
