help with importing video to movie maker

by wassupwasabi3000 - 10/3/06 4:36 PM

I have a video saved to a mini DV tape in a Samsung SDC-103 camcorder. I used the bundled software to save the video to my hard drive as a .asf file, so that then I could import it to Windows Movie Maker for some editing. However, when I try to import the file into that program, I get the following error message:

The file C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Videos\gettysburg.asf is not indexed and cannot be imported.

What should I do now? I need that video. Thanks in advance for any responses.

The bundled software is usualy useless!!
How did you import this? USB is also useless for video.
Get a firewire PCI card for your PC $20~40 and hook your MiniDV to your PC using firewire and you can then use WMM2 to import your movies and edit. John
