Cell phones: Motorola E815 vs. LGVX 8300 vs. Motorola RAZR V3m

I had originally considered the LG VX8100 (predecessor to 8300) and RAZR V3c and after considerable research (check out Howard Forums), E815 was clear choice. IMO (and for that matter, opinion of countless others on forums), E815 offers the best sound quality (far better than Razr), nicest display, and easily the best interface--as previously mentioned it's the only Verizon phone not using the Verizon user interface and that's a very good thing. Sounds like previous poster's battery problems are a unit defect..I am a moderate user and only need to recharge every 3 or 4 days--battery life great. Also, bluetooth works very well.
Here are the only possible areas where the E815 is not superior
- form...definitely not a tiny phone but not huge either. I personally like the size..feels just right in my hand.
- test messaging...fine for light to moderate use, otherwise, look at a device with a keyboard (Q, VX9800 or 'V')
- vibrate feature...very weak but I don't use often at all. Speakerphone thought is nice and loud.

Razr V3m

The main reason I traded it in was for VZ Navigator support. If you don't know what this is I suggest you look it up online. It has to be the best feature out there. It's navigation like GPS but uses cell phone towers instead of satelites. You can look up businesses by name and map them/get directions to them. It will tell you turn by turn how to get there and give the phone number. This feature alone is why the V3m is better. The other 2 phones you are thinking about do not support VZ Navigator. The only other reason I like the Razor is it's size. The E815 was too huge for me.
One thing I hate about the Razr compared to the E815 is the screens. Both the outside and inside screen are much worse quality and brightness. In the daylight I can barley see the screen. If you can put up with that and want VZ Navigator, I suggest you get the V3m.

A phone is for me just a phone. The v3m was vastly inferior:
- Voice quality inferior to 815
- Reception was not nearly as good as a 815
- v3m screens nearly invisable in sunlight or out-of-doors
- Outside screen was so small that it was useless
- Volume was muted. Could never make it loud enough.
So, in the final analysis I wanted a great phone for making and receiving calls. Not a music player or GPS device. And the 815 had the great Moto UI not the VZ crappy one.
