MacBook V.2 ?
by sp_100 - 9/14/06 12:44 PMPlanning to buy MacBook MA255LLA. And noticed that there are many 'MacBook suddenly dies'/'logic board replacement' posts on Apple Discussions.
Does anyone know when version 2 will/may be available?
I'm trying to avoid beta testing, and would hate to get my first apple (full of worms), and then switch back to PC.

are being replaced and the current shipping machines do not have this problem.
If you go back to a PC you will definitely be a Beta Tester. MS still have not got Windows right! 
As to the next iteration of MacBooks, this is known only to Apple

1. Most likely not all the stock has been depleted yet. When do you its safe to buy?
2. I was referring to HARDWARE beta testing. M$ is irrelevant.

Seems there may still be a problem with these machines, see the recent post in this forum.
I wouldn't like to guess when that particular board is no longer used or the existing stock is depleted. Usually, when they recognise a problem, the existing stock is pulled and the defective part replaced.
Ref you #2. you got that right
