Hi, I want to know if there is a program for audio editing that I can use. Some people tell me about Garage band but I don't want to create music some others mention Logic but I have the trial version and I find it very similar to Garage band. I have a program for Windows (Adobe Audition)and wanted something similar for Mac.
Thanks
Garageband can edit music but not at a very advanced level. Logic will do that better - and by the way, they will both happily edit *not just create* music.
Otherwise there's this wonderful link that has a great breakdown of Mac audio programs.

Get Audacity -
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
It will work on a PC or Mac. It is a full featured audio editing application.
It is an ongoing develepment at SourceForge.
If you just want to record, get FreeWireTap Pro - $19 http://www.ambrosiasw.com/news/
I use them both and enjoy both very much.
I use Audacity too - it is especially good for converting between different formats used by audio files.
Note that if you want to export files from Audacity as MP3(suitable for loading up into a portable player) you will need the LAME plugin(Google LAME OSX for the latest version).
The first time you try to export ot MP3 it will ask you to locate the LAME framework. Just navigate to where you stashed the expanded download and away you go, You can even set the ID3 tags before you save the file
try this Xilisoft Audio Converter. It can convert between many popular audio formats, such as MP3, WAV, WMA, MP4, M4A, MP2, VQF, APE, OGG, AAC and FLAC etc.

Mac User,
Mac Forum,
Looking for Mac apps.
See a pattern forming?
Your suggestion of a Windows application is not really an auspicious first ever post for you.
