SanDisk Sansa e200 vs. Creative Zen V Plus

by austdo - 9/21/06 4:00 PM

Hey all, I'm looking for a new MP3 Player... non-ipod.

I just wanted some BOLer's opinions, because I'm sure you guys have had actual first-hand experiences with one, or possibly both players.

So... the SanDisk Sansa e200 series, or Creative Zen V Plus?

Thanks!

Creative if you don't care for size, and want something that plays video with out converting. However, that said I think the Zen Neeon http://www.dapreview.net/comment.php?comment.news.3505

Unless you need 6 or 8gig of space at a good price then I go with Creative.

But then again the E series has price and space going for it. 8gig yes.

not sure about creative.

The Sansa plays video in their own format. While both Creative players(the Zen V plus and Neeon2) play divx, avi and WMV files just like the ZVM and ZV/W. Not sure mpeg4. But you can fairly easily convert it to divx with divx converter.

Sansa e260 hard to beat for price/features.

At Buy.com, paid $139, including shipping, gift for my 10-year-old daughter. So far, a SOLID, amzaingly well programmed little gem.

I think I may have to ground her and take it from her...

Sole criticism -- no external power for play, charging, other than the USB.

Bonus -- no external power adapter to lose.

:-D
