There are actually many places where computers don’t run any other application than word processing and spreadsheets and they have been running for years!! Doing their work as well as in the beginning.. So is the user that starts running and downloading new stuff that cause the computers to crash or become unusable.
Its the same as over-zealous religious people, except with a cause. People try to convert "wrong doers" by telling them the difference between right and wrong. If you truly believe they are doing bad, then let them experience the consiquences. Interviening does not teach why not to, just that you shouldn't. If you can't be bothered to utilize the knowledge of others, watch how far your own knowledge takes you.
While I dont personally have any particular problems I see crashed computers, computers with errors and Viruses all the time. I feel the Microsoft registry is responsible for more problems than anything else with malware a close second. The centralized registry to control all programs make windows a very undependable Operating System. Knowing what not to click on and having a system of rapid restore leaves you not worrying about it though.
It has been proven that around 70-80 percent of computer error is actually caused by human error. But, on top of that, the end user has the choice of whether they use security software, anti-virus or even a more decent browser than that buggy "e".
Considering that computer hardware and software is designed, built or written by humans and computers are used by humans what else can be blamed for problems.
Lack of knowledge is the main cause for most problems.
Not updating patches, software and security apps.
Not reading manuals before using or hardware and application.
Not maintaining the system both software and hardware wise.
Installing software that will never be of rarely be used causing clutter.
I would guess that out of every 100 problems 99 are caused by human error.
Two words: Windows Bites.
Once I finish my upgrading I will use LINUX and some Windows aps through Win4Lin. That's the closest I wish to get to IE. I truely dislike the browser and the OS.
MSDOS 6.2 was the last reasonably good OS put out by our friends ar MicroSoft.

Haven't decided which of the three is more dangerous:
The 'Hot Shot Know-it-All,'also known as the 'Quick Start Miracle Expert,' housekeepers vacuming,or anyone passing by to the bathroom, who don't heed the warning on the door:"KEEP OUT:If you beleive in Life-after-Death, Open this Door and Find out!":One of them never will: The forbidden, dead-gray 'ON' button beckens, 'A 'quick peek can't hurt'they think: So,unlike Hans finger in the seawall,it won't turn it off,and jumps to life: Close the door and run. A couple hundred bucks later,a Tech.Bill and days of work,my PC is up and running again, sans a lot of data. Fingerprints on the screen can't be removed either, but who can you call to come dust them? You know now what the problem is: Its THE START BUTTON!
ON EARTH?
Well software provider are Numero uno on my list.Like Microsoft that desided years ago to make us ginea pigs in their quest for better computer software and more money for them.Software conflicts and drivers cause lots of blue screens. Then you have the idiotic hackers and people not being able to run their machines right.
