A flash drive MP3 player is more compatible with sports activity. Apple makes that clear in the information it distributes. It has even paired the Nike sports shoe kit with the Nano for that reason. So, to claim that your hard drive based iPod is faulty because it skips while you skateboard is rather silly.
What is so silly about saying that the Ipod skips during whatever activity that person may be doing and the Zen doesnt? Regardless of what apple says if one skips and one doesnt isnt that something worth noting?
Since you already have the iTunes software and are familiar with the iPod interface you might as well upgrade, and im pretty sure you wont regret it, i never have. Also if you're planning to get any accesories for your mp3 player, keep in mind that iPods will always be the most exclusive when it comes to that. from laser pointers to custom stereo systems iPods have the best accesories, not to mention that iPods are so great and popular that some-nearly all car manufacturers offer iPod adapters in their cars. lets see the Zen beat that
well smartie, not many people are actually telling you what to get, are they?
I have a zen micro and the software to get music to the device or to edit the music is very clear and easy to use. You also get a very good piece of software mainly for playing music which does everything - rip's, burn's sync's, capable of making playlists, good search function and organizes your music very well. so if that's the same you'll be fine.
the zen vision:m isin't as thin as the ipod (19mm) - probally beacuse of the bigger battery, it's up to you if you like the look and the ipod and zen use the same interface. the zen is more scratch-resistent, not sure by how much though.
if you buy something from I tunes can't you only use it with the ipod? so if you have only bought a little from Itunes - GET OUT NOW before you spend a fortune and then are trapped in the ipod realm. but if you have bought a lot you might as well keep with the ipod.
hope this helps
Before you even consider a choice between the 2, consider looking at the new Archos 404 or 604. Not as small and not as transportable but at least worth looking into. I already have the iPod and the Zen Vision M30. I've made my choice and it is the Archos 604. Perhaps some would say "more money than brains," and they may be right (althought I'm RETIRED military and don't really have a lot of money to blow). Anyway, after much, much nosing around, I've picked the 604 as my player of choice.
