firefox (whatever the latest stable release is). Basically it does the job I want and Its not from microsoft. Its not that I hate M$ but why support the 10,000 kilo gorilla ;its in my interest tokeep as much competition around as possible

YES let's keep competition alive. So many great software companies have been bought out just to have their products eliminated. There is much good about MS, but competition is the spice of life and I wouldn't mind using Firefox just for the purpose of helping to maintain competition.

Integrated email and full featured, I don't care about saving space. I want, and get, a solid browser with great features

I haven't found this feature in Firefox. It may be there but I don't know where.

I use Maxthon, introduced by a techie friend. It's a great tabbed browser, much better than IE.

I now use version 1.5.0.6, but I have used FF ever since the first public release of version 1. To me, there is no other browser. Firefox is fast, safe, utilitarian and fun. And, with Firefox, the web browser is one area of computing where one is not forced to deal with MS. Now, if only I could bring myself to switch from Windows to Linux!

Opera is fast, uses less memory than FireFox. I like the 'open in background tab' feature that comes standard, plus when you close a tab, you return to the tab you opened it from. I have it start up with my Yahoo calendar, Gmail and Yahoo Mail (old one, beta doesn't work in Opera and is real poor on an old 1 ghz machine like mine anyway) open in tabs.
Plus Opera is just different, a little quirky and sorta geeky neat, eh? Oops, I do miss my Google tool bar spell check.... Oh well, beggers........

Internet Explorer. And I can't find where to actually vote.
Tried firefox, didn't like it. Internet explorer is easiest to use and has the most features.
Those ISP-provided browsers are resource-eating crocks full of uneeded garbage - and who actually wants their ISP for their home page?

I've been using K-meleon for a few days and have found it to be very fast, stable and seems to be light on resources

Its really a shame that people are so persuaded by something as simple as advertising.
Yes Opera screwed up by not making its browser free so long ago, but it is free now....
An article on popular firefox extensions... intrigued me. Was there something that I was missing???
Too be honest I wish there was. So many geeks use firefox nowadays that I assume that I must be doing something wrong by relying only on Opera and Internet Explorer.
If opera advertised, surely it would excede firefox as the most common second browser among anyones choice. Apart from all the features that firefox needs "extensions" for... Opera does automatically.
Mouse gestures are neat but not something I use. Built in Email client also terrific, completely customizeably interface... as well as going much further for the serious geeks... (including style interface interception, cookie managers, referrer switching, quyick changing (cookies, referer logging, as well as browser identification). The integrated performance manager is also a easily accessible treat. Including adjusting cache sizes and history changes for use on older systems.
The main Opera download is only 4.3MB making it accesible to dial up users, as well as the fact that all of the faetures available only as extensions to firefox users are included in that 4.3MB download. Voice capability is the only "addon" that I have come across, although that weighs in at a hefty 10MB, still its nice to control your browser through vocal commands.
Lets not exclude security. Opera is far more secure then Firefox. I use only nod32 as my antimalware software, (with occasional spybot sweeps) that have never turned up malware on my system. rootkit revealer has also turned up nothing. Rootkit revelaer has only shown one problem in 2 years also, but that was related to game installs. The dreaded starforce antipiracy software... which was quickly removed...
I tried firefox when it came out, who didn't? But the lack of included features and lack of security (it was more secure then IE6 for almost 3 months, now it is targetted however... and without prompts to tell you that "updates are available" (unless that has changed recently) I cant see how they can claim more security...)
I love Opera, and a small 100KB backup transfers all of my 300 bookmarks, password log ins as well as cookies that I keep a tight control on 
(Through the integrated cookie manager)
