After three lenghty sessions with three different so called Symantec techs I still have a program that I cannot turn on email scanning. Part of the fix was to uninstall and reinstall the program three times. After that they had me do on-line scanning and security scanning which proved nothing.
I give up with Norton !
Doesn't Windows XP also scan emails for worms and
viruses ? Where to turn this on ???

The simple answer is No.
As far as the NAV 2006 e-mail scanning turned off it could be that your ISP or E-Mail provider has a virus scanner scanning prior to you receiving the e-mails. As long as you have your Norton AV set for Auto Protect every file downloaded (including e-mail and attachements) to your hard drive is scanned prior to you opening or running it.
