I tried downloading the safari 1.2 dmg from apple but i guess its just an update so when i try to install it it says the computer cant use the software. Then i tried downloading the Safari 1.0 dmg from apple and once again it says the software cant be used, i cant be positive but im pretty sure that it was the actual program, and not an update, i downloaded that from the apple website as well.
im not sure whats wrong

What about this approach

Get yourself a copy of Pacifist, google for it.
Insert your OS X installation disk (10.4.x) and let it mount. Run Pacifist.
This program will allow you to extract single programs from the installer and copy their installation package to wherever you want it placed.

Once you have the Safari installer, quit from Pacifist and run the installer. You may have to delete the Safari items in the Library/receipts folder. These receipts tell the system what software you have installed and what version it is. Software update uses it to determine what updates you need.

If you do not want to mess with that, how about doing an Archive and install using your 10.4.x installation disk. Using this method, all your stuff is protected and replaced after the installer has placed a new copy of the system onto the drive.

I think I would go the Pacifist route first

i didnt do exactly what you suggested, but when you mentioned the pacifist thing I got an idea and using that, I downloaded the dmg from safari 1.0 and installed safari.app from the package rather than going through the installer, then took the newest update and did the same thing i know have a functioning copy of safari.

thanks for your help
