How/why palm

by dcblond35 - 7/18/06 6:29 PM

can someone tell me how a company can make the crappiest products in the world, have the worse cutomer service in the world and yet still rank 7 out of 10 of the "best" PDA's on cnet's editors list?

Personal opinion and experience...

The Cnet ranking is based on the specs, design, and performance of the test units provided, and Cnet's ranking is fully explained in their reviews of the products. Regardless of your experiences, Palm does produce a good line of PDAs and smartphones and controls a sizable part of the market. Unfortunately it looks as if you'd rather rant about a lack of support instead of describing your problem(s) and asking for support. If you decide to perform the latter, please return to your original thread and provide the details.

Here, I write applications for them, there are 5 PalmOne units on my desk and they work just fine.

I don't see the issue.

Can't you see that it is just a dud PDA. Send it back and get a new one. Dont blame Palm, who makes great PDAs, for your unwillingness to buy another. Geez.

Most problems can be fixed

Reset loops can normally be fixed by doing various resets, starting with the soft, then warm and last resort, a hard reset.

Something probably got messed up somewhere with the duplicates.

I can't recall whether the Zire 31 has the Photo option in Palm Desktop. If it does, it should have come with the original Zire 31 install CD. Normally, people who download the palm desktop from Palm won't have that Photo feature in it for copyright reasons.

I own a Zire 71 and Treo 650 and they work fine.

If you really need it fixed, get it fixed at a decent price from Chris Short:
