Sigh...

by Loktoar - 10/7/06 3:30 PM In reply to: A company that isn't trustwothy by dullias

You are really blind. That's typical of nin fans. I was blind too when I was one.

Nins in it for the fun and to make gamers happy. B%*& S#@^!!!!! Their in it for the money too. Thats the purpose of a company. TO MAKE MONEY! So what if thyve been around for 20 years. They gotta go down sometime. The reason why they were so popular back in the day was because there wasnt much choice. Nin was basically the only big video game maker.

If you dont think graphics are important, just play a nes and dont bother getting a new console. It would save you a lot of money too.

xbox on it's last legs.

by Frosty_The_Punk - 10/8/06 7:01 AM In reply to: Sigh... by Loktoar

I agree all games console companies are in it for the money. microsoft made a loss of four billion dollars in four years. that is why I think microsoft are the least successful and least credible contender.

alpha, if anyone is ''going down'' this upcoming generation, it's microsoft. representatives from microsoft have stated that if they suffer anywhere near the kind of financial losses that they had with the original xbox then they will find it difficult to justify making a third console.

and the future is very uncertain for xbox360, considering that it's competitors are not even released yet and it's not even outselling ps2 in hardware sales.

------------------------------------------------------
''If you dont think graphics are important, just play a nes and dont bother getting a new console. It would save you a lot of money too.''

funny you should mention that. the wii will play all my favorite NES, SNES, N64 and GC games along with quite a few other systems' games as well :)

there are a lof of NES and SNES games I would rather play than some of the crap that games companies are making today.

a boring game with awesome graphics is still boring.

a fun game that was made 15 years ago is still a fun game :)

no offence alpha, but you're the one who's blind.

poor xbox tried 1080p and will fail horribly

by blklacker - 10/8/06 1:34 PM In reply to: xbox on it's last legs. by Frosty_The_Punk

1. There has been serveral pictures and articles ie proof that suppports this in Japan already. PS3 has a hand full of titles 1080p/60frps amazing just amazing.

2. Not even the newest TVs such as the sony xbr3, the sharp D62 can produce 1080p with component cables. I still have yet to see a TV that can.

3. Anyone who pays $200 bucks to up convert their 360 to 1080p would be making a mistake and just wasting money. I mean even if I could just afford to take $200 dollars and wipe my butt with it and flush it down the toilet doesn't mean I would do it. lt's probally the worst thing you could do with $200 bucks. You cannot get a true 1080p/60frps with component cables. I don't even think it's technically possible, to get a 1080p/20/30rate with component cables and if there is a TV that can do it, hats off- that's one expenisive/amazing TV.

cant think of a good title

by Loktoar - 10/10/06 4:24 PM In reply to: xbox on it's last legs. by Frosty_The_Punk

4 billion? I thought it was 4 million. Why would it cost so much to design it. It only had a pentium 3 733 mhz. Plus, xbox came in 2 years into last gen, so lots of people had already bought a gc or ps2 (thats my case at least). That really messed up its sales. Thats probably why ther sent it out early, so they can get a head start on the others. BTW, microsoft estimates a total of 10 million units to be sold by the end of 2006 compared to the wii and ps3's projected 2 million. This gives microsoft the high ground and if ive learned anything from watching karate movies, the person with the high ground always wins.

Anyway. Thats small pocket change for microsoft which is owned by no other than Bill Gates. Yes, the worlds richest man. Proud owner of over 90 billion dollars and growing. I think the 360's future is the most clear of the 3. The ps3 is using largly unproven technology, so that sort of gives you an idea of what will happen to it (the ps3's tilt function had a half a second lag at TGS lol!). The wii is mostly the same. Nin has very little experience with this tech, and this will probaby lead to huge lags and distance you can go from your console (i still dont get why people are so excited about a motion sensing controller). This will probably lead to large recalls and lots of unhappy customers. In nintendos current financial state, they cant afford that.

Who cares about old games. Old people. Even xplay says they no one cares about the old games. Adam sessler is probably older than anyone here too. Crap games, name a few. If their hat bad, then dont play them. Play the good new games that are comming out. Id rather play a bad game with good graphics than a bad game with bad graphics. Most of those old games are pretty boring. I played my brothers old sega master system, and shut it off after a half hour. The virtual console is a sign of nintendos nostalga of the 80's, when people had to buy their games.

Sensible! :)

by Frosty_The_Punk - 10/12/06 6:35 AM In reply to: cant think of a good title by Loktoar

good to see you're acting like a grown-up in your posts now. :)

Yes microsoft made a loss of 4 billion!
That's $4,000,000,000.00!

Bill gates doesn't actually own $90 billion. he's worth 90 billion. that means if he sold everything he owned he would have 90 billion dollars. :)
-------------------------------------------------------
Nintendo actually predicts 6 million shipped, not two million.
I'm not too sure about ps3 but considering that the wii plans to have 6 million shipped by march 07 (japan's end of fiscal year) means that xbox360's 10 million since it's launch wayyyy back seems rather unimpressive considering it entered the market virtually unopposed.
--------------------------------------------------------
"The wii is mostly the same. Nin has very little experience with this tech, and this will probaby lead to huge lags and distance you can go from your console."

why is this probable?
you pulled that out of nowhere, there hasn't been any documented problems with the controllers yet, why do you think that there will be? nintendo has never had controller/wi-fi problems before as far as I know.
--------------------------------------------------------

"In nintendos current financial state, they cant afford that"

Nintendo are doing well financially, making a healthy profit..unlike microsoft.

don't you read research anything before you post?

-------------------------------------------------------

the wii's virtual console doesn't just have nintendo games on it. The service will feature classic titles from past Nintendo consoles (from the NES to the N64) as well as from formerly competing systems, such as the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16, Commodore 64 and MSX. Virtual Console may also offer new and original content from independent developers.

Oh and I don't care what X-Play says, I KNOW I'm not the only person who's excited about this. there's a lot of people who can't wait to get their hands on all the old games.
-------------------------------------------------------

and as for the fuss over motion sensitive controllers. think about the mouse on your computer.

Imagine what games on PC were like before the mouse was invented. just buttons and joypads.

now imagine a mouse that senses movements in all directions, all with just a slight movement in your wrist.
left, right, up, down, roll, tilt, yaw etc.. all taken in real-time.

It seems evident that true 3D motion sensor controls are going to become as fundamental in console gaming as a mouse is for PC games..but far more interactive than a mouse.

Alpha, just a question. if the motion sensor controller was made by microsoft for xbox360 as the standard controller. how would you feel about it?

by dullias - 10/8/06 3:37 PM In reply to: Sigh... by Loktoar

I never said I was a Nintendo fan. Just because I am going to buy there product doesn't necessarily make me a fan. Of course they are going to be in it for the money but Nintendo is also in it for the people not themselves like Microsoft. Why would I buy an NES when I can buy the Wii and get the NES SNES N64 Turbo Grafx 16 Sega Commodore 64 and play my Gamecube games and im not saving money? The Wii just sounds like the better choice.

PS
Don't get butt hurt because XBox sucks.

Well, you may not be a nin fan, but im going to still bash the wii. WHO CARES ABOUT OLD GAMES! omg! I forgot, the broader audience. umm, if that broauder audience wated to play video games they would be playing them already. Nintendo is just tryin to target old people to play because tey know that teens and serious gamers wont support them. Do you see any wii commercials with teens... i didnt think so.

Dude, if theres a console that sucks its the wii. PS, if I seem a bit emotional, thats a good thing. This is improving my persuasive writing skills.

Keep bashing the Wii it's not going to stop me from buying it and only make me think 360 brainwashes kids like you. A lot of people care about old games they are what made new games more fun. Nintendo is trying to target old people to broaden their fan base. What defines a serious gamer; someone with no life? And I have seen Wii commercials with teens in them.

Post Script
If there is any console[s] that sucks it would most definitly be 1.Virtual Boy 2.Xbox 360.
Keep improving cause your aren't persuading me.

What exactly is your point xbox fanboy?

by to_good4u12345 - 7/17/06 6:03 AM In reply to: The by Loktoar

I was trying to avoid having to write to you based on reading your past posts, as you're clearly am xbox fanboy (that's ok, but it obviously makes you extremely bias). You need to think or actually know the facts before you're going to say things or else you end up sounding like a lil child, and you certainly don't help someone who is trying to buy a new system.

Now, I cannot understand what point you've been trying to make about sequels. The new GTA will be #6 in their series, and Halo 3 is bound to be great, as should the new Metal Gear. Final Fantasy anyone? If a game is extreemly successful, you keep the franchise going. If it stops, it clearly was a failure. Nintendo's franchises have lasted so long because they produce quality games. They milk the Mario franchise for the sports, but all of those have been good games (check the reviews, or trying playing one). Who these ''new, hardcore gamers who don't like Mario'' you seem to be representing, I'm not aware of.

So sequels are bad for you, yet you hype them if they're not by the N? Godfather on Wii? It's just an example of 3rd party support! EA saw the system and figured it'd be a great fit. So for you, Nintendo games suck, and 3rd party support sucks, so it all sucks for Wii doesn't it? You're too closed minded kid.

I'm not saying which one's gonna be the best, and I'm going to wait a bit to see how the systems fare intially (can't wait too long though). What I know for fact is this though: the experience w/ games on the Wii will be totally different. Perhaps someone will be able to rip off the tech, but there's a reason Nintendo keeps quiet for so long. They have spent a lot of time and money reseraching and patenting their tech, just like any new tech. Graphics won't blow you away COMPARED to the 360 & ps3, but they're definately a step up from current gen. Check the e3 vids for proof. Graphics are great, and I love em, which is why I'm considering all systems. But Live 06' on 360 is an example of a beautiful looking, terrible game (07 will be much better though). That's just to say graphics don't equal success. Violence, doesn't mean good games. It's all about the games for me, and whichever system will gimme the best gaming experience.

ur rite (i think... i have a really short atention span so i didnt read mos of ur reply)i hate people who say xbox is concentrating on grafix not gameplay so dos dat mean that any game with amazing grafix has to be ***** (that must be the case yeah?). and another thing the wii controller no matter how inovitive it is, it looks incredibly uncofortables, now the 360 controller is a diffrent case its purfect, and i hope no one **** to me and says hoe do u know the 360 controller is the best? well because i own a 360 nd a ps2 whos controller is exact same as ps3, nd i have a tv remote (same as wii) nd i can tell u withought a doubt the 360 one takes the trophie

not motion sense!!!

by jenova_child - 9/28/06 7:09 AM In reply to: funny by Jerry9254

the ps3 is not using the same tech as the wii. while the wii has in-depth motion sensing, the ps3 has TILT sensing.

My point is

by Loktoar - 8/2/06 5:03 PM In reply to: What exactly is your point xbox fanboy? by to_good4u12345

This forum is about helping someone buy a system? I thought it was a debate and Im going to keep it that way. About sequals. Halo 3. Its only the third game in the series. Plus, their not going to make halo tennis, or halo golf or halo racing like mario. GTA. They could change a few things about the storyline. But its just something about committing crimes that draw people to the game. The new metal gear is the fourth and I heard that its going to be the conclusion to the series. Quality games? The new mario looks exactly the same as the one for the GC exept with a motion sensing controller. Ive played the sports. Not only are they not realistic (strikers super duper goal scoring kick), but their just plain...well...gay. The difference between sequals for the N and for other companies is this. Other companies only make a handfull in a series. Nintendo makes a friggin hundred. Godfather.. Its on the xbox normal and PS2. Last time I checked were in the seventh generation era. Not the sixth. The godfather is a multi platform game, so it isnt very much of a third party support game. Yep. Ninteno sux. Remember. Everythig new has problems. The wii remote has a high chance of having a problem. Dont trust E3. Its just a big convention where the new games are released and companies get atention. Of course nin is going to make a suped up version of the controller for people to try. Thats how they get people to buy the wii.

by jaymaki - 9/13/06 7:00 PM In reply to: My point is by Loktoar

The mario games aren't sequels, the new one look sway different and plays way different. Their isn't halo golf because master chief isn't their mascot. Wii sports is supposed to be simple idiot, how else would I get my mom to play it? How does the wiimote have a high chance of having a problem, what proof to you have. Sony uses similar technology on their controller, but I don't hear you bashing them. Besides, nintendo games have influenced many of the current genres anyway. Goldeneye revolutionized fps's, super mario 64 revolutionized platformers, ocarina of time revolutionized adventure games, and super smash bros. revolutionized fighting games (along with soul calibur). Don't insult nintendo when they are the pioneers of console gaming, and you don't know what you are talking about. I'm not a nintendo fanboy, I'd get a ps3 also if I could afford it (I could if they didn't put in a stupid blu-ray drive).
