Windows File sharing problems

by Two More - 7/16/06 1:56 PM

I have 2 comps on my home network. The problem i am having is that computer 1 can see files and printers on comp 2 and comp 2 can't see files or printers on comp 1 let alone access the workgroup that it's on. Comes up with error of "do not have access wrong file path and all that nonsense." My question is i can't figure out anything else to change to get it too work.
Comp 1 runs McAfee antivirus and ZoneAlarm Firewall
Comp 2 runs Norton antivirus

If that helps, any suggestions plz reply asap.

Thx

account by the same name as the remote PC will allow access. Another bugaboo are firewalls bouncing back those packets. Try turning it off.

trusted range of IP addresses

I suspect you need to add a TRUSTED RANGE of IP addresses to each of your firewalls.

ZoneAlarm:

(make sure you close ZoneAlarm to save changes after adding the trusted range.)

The process is similar for Norton Internet Security (and many other firewalls)
