I'm getting a XPS m1710, and I would like to know if there is THAT big of a performance difference between the dual core 1.83, 2, 2.16, or 2.33 GHZ when paired with the 7900 GTX and a gig of ram.
Sometimes the CPU models differ with one having a little more CPU cache so you can't compare strictly on GHz, but in laptops you can't (on most) change the CPU so if I wanted to maximise the years I'd go for 2.0 or over GHz Centrino (or Duo).
I won't comment exact numbers but you could see if the CPU is on the CPU CHARTS at tomshardware.com This is work for you to perform if you want numbers.
