I am looking for a podcast client that will automatically copy the newly downloaded podcast to my mp3 player. iTunes works great as a podcast client, but it won't copy the shows to my Sansa E260. I am just trying to avoid doing it manually.
Any other ideas?
Info: WinXP and SanDisk Sansa E260 4GB.
Thanks!
I have the same setup as you, basically. I have just been making playlists with WMP 11 and loading them with up with that or Media Monkey. You can find it on Download.com. With either one you can sync automatically or do it as I said I have. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to where I feel comfortable enough to make a "smart" playlist yet.
Incidently, I use Juice receiver for my podcatching and have the folder in my library with the rest of my MP3s. A problem comes when an ID3 tag isn't properly filled. I also wish the E260 filed your playlist in one folder, but that's asking alot.
ZenCast is pretty good but I dont know if it works for products outside of the Creative brand. Although it isnt nearly as good as iTunes it gets the job done without doing it manually. Also Creative taking a page from Google launched this player in BETA so it can get better.
It works great for my Zen Vision M, but I have no idea how it works with other models. It works with video/mp3s, and then converts the mp3s into video so you can see the the topics. (at least on my ZVM)
I pretty much like that feature where it converts the PodCast into a video file where it has like a slide show feel to it. At first I thought thats just the way the file came but it doesnt and it also doesnt kill your battery like a normal video. Thanks to CNet for giving the suggestion of getting the Zen Vision M which is great. I even got iPod lovers to convert :-D
I also wanted something that would download directly to my MP3 player, which happens to be from Creative. Mine is the Zen MicroPhoto (8G) and I really like it. The only thing I wouldl ike to see done, since it has access to the internal API of the device is that it creates a playlist of the newly downloaded podcasts, or appends the newly podcasts to an existing playlist, so I don't have to find those and add them manually to my unlistened podcasts.
The device I use is well worth its price. Look around for the best pricing on the net.

. . . you can drag and drop from right in the program. I am using iPodder and I use it to download the shows, which it very conveniently stores in folders. Then I use Windows explorer to drag & drop them onto the player.
What I wondered was -- if you got an app that would download them and copy them to an non-iPod-player, would that app be able to delete the ones you've already listened to, on the player? If not, it wouldn't be much use, to me, anyway.
Have a look for HappyFish. It does all that I need and all that's been asked for in this thread, and is simple to use.
There's a new version out shortly too.
Cheers
