Microsoft Personal Storage Manager (beta)

by RayGauthier - 6/27/06 7:50 AM

Microsoft Personal Storage Manager is suppose to be a Power Toy/tool that, among other features will permit password encryption of files and folders, even on flash drives and other external and removeable storage media.

It was announced; when I went to download it, it indicated that it was a new one-click install. But I got the typical Open or Save options, and I chose to Save it. It Saved as a dot Application. But it never truely installed. renaming the extension to MSI or EXE did not work.

And when I went back to Microsoft, the link to it is now broken/dead.

Has anybody gotten it, and gotten it to work?

Thanks, Marianna, but while Google provides references, the actual application/utility still seems to be unavailable. The links, like MajorGeek, return "The download you requested is unavailable."

Microsoft Personal Storage Manager

Marianna,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I apologize for not responding sooner.

Yes, I was able to access the file on Microsoft, but I must be doing something wrong, because the only option I get is to Save the file, and it saves as "MSPSMgr.application." The earlier download page talks about a new one-click installation.

And I can't figure out what I can do with it. I've tried renaming it to an EXE and MSI, but neither were recognized as applications that I could install.
