Hey everyone. I compiled a bunch of information on Apple Boot Camp since Apple isn't officially supporting it just yet.
I have paid for the site and gone through the painstaking process of creating it using HTML.
http://www.dualbootguru.com
The site is designed to answer the most commonly asked questions about Boot Camp such as:
NTFS vs. FAT32
Video Games Compatibility List
Which games run at 1440x900/1680x1050
Booting from an external HDD
Ctrl+click = right click
etc.
I would REALLY appreciate it if you visited my site. It is really designed as a help page and I would appreciate feedback on it. I know, for example, that the games compatibility list is not yet complete.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Please continue to update me with any games that have been confirmed to work (and if they support 1440x900 or 1680x1050). This list ought to be helpful to many Mac/Boot Camp gamers out there.
Lastly, I do not want to sound trashy, but if you do not mind, maybe you could click on one ad from the site. I need money to pay for its upkeep and it is really not designed for my own profit in the first place. It is designed for everyone who uses Boot Camp.
If this site gets many visits, I will make sure to keep it up-to-date with all information that I can squeeze into it.
It has been a ton of work making this site, so just one visit/ad click would make a big difference to me.
Thanks, and have fun using Boot Camp!!

You spammed the boards and review site hawking your site.
This is in violation of the forum policies but I would have looked the other way if you had stopped at 2 posts or replied to others about this.
As it stands, you spammed.
Bob
What? I just put it on Mac hardware and Mac software boards... I didn't intend to spam this message.
Read the website. It is NOT spam, that is for sure.
I made it for the community, but there didn't seem to be much activity on certain boards, so I put it on a few to see which board would respond best.
In any case, think what you want.
I put a lot of effort into the website, and that effort was not just for me.
I looked at your profile to find them all.
-> Yes, it's a great site. The forum policies are pretty clear and the reason your post lives on is by what an insane great job you did on the site.
It's rough to find the right words but this one is right on the edge of that magic line. The problem of allowing any site promotion is once it's allowed, it becomes an excuse for others to do the same.
Best of luck with that site.
Bob
Can I delete my excess posts?
Also, this isn't a site promotion per se because it isn't trying to sell anything. I thought it'd be a great help to many people, so I wanted people to be able to find it when they need to.
It's a good site and as I noted, the insane great ideas is what kept me from voting to remove this.
Here's what I'm asking. Top posts with links to your own web site can be over the line (read the forum policy). To keep it from going over, it can't be a product for sale item or another forum (this one should be clear why this is so.)
There's this other unwritten item about how many forums to post before it's considered too many. The number is one pair.
I've read your site with interest and it's fine stuff.
Bob
I appreciate it.
Again, I apologize if I was spamming. Not my intention.
I have one question... how could I contact the head editor of CNET? I was hoping (fingers crossed) that if CNET ever had another feature on Boot Camp, they could include a link to my site as a resource. If not, I was hoping they could at least add a link to it on their existing Boot Camp articles. It's a pie-in-the-sky idea I know, but I thought I'd try.
Thanks again.
I play Doom 3 at 1680x1050 on my Dell 2005FPW (granted, it's on a Windows box). It's not a selectable option -- you need to enter this command into the console:
r_mode -1 r_customwidth 1680 r_customheight 1050 vid_restart
You can also play it the 1440xWhatever resolution -- just change the 1680 and 1050 above to the proper values.
I'll add it right now.
Thanks!
Thanks
I added Doom 3 and the fix
I have try boot Camp, but have you ever try the new version of Parallels, you can the new version on a trial version I like to know which is the best and the pro and con of it. But waiting for new boot camp version. Thanks Greg for the info page great work.
Parallels works great if you just wnat to you 2D programs. But any programs that are 3D will not work at all with parallels (such as videogames).
That right there is the con of Parallels.
The pro is that you don't have to choose either Windows XP or OSX. You can run Windows XP in OSX with Parallels, but it is not as powerful. Parallels is also a resource hog in OSX.
