their service center is located in california. If you live in california you can drop it off. If you dont live there you have to send it to them. As most laptop companies they only offer a 1 yr warranty but soon they will offer extended warranty. i got this information from their website.

And he love it.

It has the same configuration than this, but it is more portable with its 15.4" display.

But for a 17", look to the HP Pavilion dv8000t with the nVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 or the Dell Inspiron E1705 / 9400 with the Go 7800/7900.

ASUS is popular in Europe, but here, in America, ASUS is in the second range, after Toshiba, Dell, HP, Lenovo and Sony. But yes, ASUS make very nice laptops. I'm on two European forums, Clubic and 01net.com and they also say that ASUS make very nice laptops. But there is a problem : in America, after-sale service is poor and it is difficult to get one, particularly in Canada.

You HAVE TO be sure to buy a 17" laptop. You must think to the enormous weight and the size ( very big ). Don't think to carry it all around the house. A 17" is made to be on a table like a desktop.
