CNET car articles quality

by jpr - 6/8/06 4:55 AM

Am I the only one that thinks that the automotive articles are horrible?
In every article I read I find mistakes. I'm getting the feeling that the editors just don't know the cars. I mean look, on the article about low safety cars, they list the Nissan Xterra. What are they talking about?! The Xterra is the MOST safe in its category! I has standard side curtian airbags, standard ESP, etc... In another article, "Gas Guzzlers" they put 3 midsize suvs and 1 full size suv. It just dosent work. And, two of those midsized SUV's had the BEST fuel economy in their class!
Who can I talk to to see about inproving the article quality??
(The editors DON"T respond to email's you give them)
Thanks.

Here's how...

While it hasn't been fruitful for you, the best option is to contact the individual editors directly...click here, then their name to access their profiles, where the 'e-mail member' option will hopefully be enabled.

The other route you can take is to click here and fill out the feedback form concerning reviews and editorials. As it says at the top, you likely won't receive a response, but at least your complaints and suggestions will be heard by those in charge.

Hope this helps and good luck.
John

CNET car articles quality

I agree that the "professional" reviews are lacking quality and facts. I doubt that the vehicles are actually tested but that the reviews are taken from other reviews.

I think there is great bias in most "professional" reviews-the current deal is to damn S.U.V.s no matter what the facts are with the exception of non-American vehicles. It is simply political and maybe financial.

There are some good reviews being done but not in Consumer Reports-which is just political crap. The C-Net reviews are not very accurate.

It's funny in what forms propaganda comes in-such as car reviews. But, the actual owner reviews, I find to be accurate-hmmmmmmmmm wonder why?

Agree pretty poor articles

I find the quality and knowledge contained in these articles quite weak. I don't see any consideration for the price in your reviews and very few actual facts in your articles. Do you guys even know how to change the oil on a car? Please stick to reviewing MP3 players and cameras.
