Wireless connection problems
by rnieves1977 - 6/26/06 1:54 AMMy wireless internet has always worked fine on my built in wireless connector in my laptop.
Me and my friend decided to set up a lan in order to play a game together, so i disabled the wireless connection. Everything worked fine in our lan game however afterwards i removed the cable and attempted to enable the wireless it seemed connected and appeared with excellent connectivity, however i cannot open any web pages or internet associated applications.
It has only started since i set up the lan and worked perfectly previously, i have disabled the lan and tried removing firewalls and repairing the wireless connection etc. i have even tried it from a different wireless access point, but nothing works.
Please help...

ow do you normally connect to the internet? Do you have a Wireless Router - if so I would be inclined to check the connection protocols between your machine and the router. If your computer is hard-wired to the telephone, check the protocols again, and if it's a USB Broadband modem, try uninstalling the driver, then follow the instructions for a new setup, that should help.
I said it's a long shot, that's because you haven't given any information to work on. Basically what we need to get an idea of what your machine is, type and so on you'll find on my profile, it's also a good idea to show what sort of Anti-virus system and spyware systems you have as well, you never know when they'll be needed.
If you do that, then in future, all you need to do when you need help is say "for computer specs, see my profile".
You do need these details because a problem can have several different causes, so the more we have to go on the better.

by rnieves1977 - 6/26/06 11:56 PM In reply to: It's a long shot by ThemisiveI have always used wireless internet at my friends and in my own house. I have a toshiba satellite laptop and in my own house i use a belkin wireless router 802.2g. I also use microsoft windows XP.
The main reason that its odd that the wireles suddenly isnt working is that it only began since i temporarily disabled it and enabled the lan connection.

Another thing, please don't take it wrong, but it IS a good idea to put your computer specs on your profile, see mine for an idea of what I mean, as it helps us to give you a bettter idea of which way to go and possibly even opens new avenues of apprach to the problem.
