I placed my order and not long after got a call to confirm the order. The guy asked why did I pick that camera, it was a great camera. He proceed to rudely and aggressively try to get me to buy accessories. I told him thanks anyway that I did not want a memory card. He told me the camera would only hold two pictures, I needed a memory card. I again said no thanks. He asked why not. I told him that I was already spending enough on my son’s gift. He said why was I being so cheap. I tried to change the subject and asked him if the camera included the cds. He said, “You worry about CD’s but not about memory, your order is canceled.” I thought he was kidding. I asked him if he was kidding. He said no. He said I was rude because I did not want a memory card. I asked to talk to a supervisor. He said he was the supervisor. I asked his name. He said Scott. He then told me “you think we need your ten dollars.” I asked him what he was talking about. He said, “Do you think we get 300 from this camera. We don’t need your ten dollars.” I told him I was going to go to go to the BBB. He said he did not care. He said, “Do you think they will believe that I said that to you?’ He also said not to call him back and ask for him and I had one minute left and then he hung up on me.
I called the number given on the site. I talked to Tom, he said that he would handle it. I asked if the owner could call me back. He said he would have the owner call me. (Later he told me that was like asking Bill Gates to call me.) I called back because Tom did not take my name down. He said he would take care of it and then said I could talk to someone else. He also said that they did not even have the camera in stock. He transferred me to someone else. This was the man that had called me initially. He said this time his name was JJ, someone else later told me his name was Mohamed Jafar (who knows). He told me that if I called back I would always get him and that if I called back he would charge me a cancellation fee (though I had not canceled the order, he did). I called again trying to talk to again get a supervisor. I got him again. I said that I had previously spoken to him and I wanted to speak to someone else. He said, “Now you are in trouble now. You know you are in trouble.” He said this in a very threatening manner, to the point that I felt very threatened.
I called back and talked to someone (an operator). He said “Just to let you know, I have had three other complaints about this guy. I would just leave my order cancelled if I were you.” I asked if I could talk to the owner. He said he has no way of getting in touch with the owner. He said that he would tell someone and have the guy fired. I asked for someone higher than him. He told me to call back tomorrow and talk to Cornelius. (I believe he was just pacifying me and a part of the scam).
I have now investigated this company on digital camera review sites.
I have read the same from so many others. They are a scam. If you do not buy the accessories, they cancel your order. They yell at you, they lie to you, they hang up on you. I think, though, in my instance, they went a bit further. This JJ guy threatened me. Why are these guys able to exist as sellers? I understand that they go under different names, also. Please band together to stop these guys. These guys need to be stopped, they are arrogant, threatening and just downright criminals. We need our internet shopping to be safe!!!
I tried to buy a camera few days back and order was automatically cancelled as I didn't call them to confirm. I think the whole idea of calling to cofirm when you have given all the info and payment online is ridiculous. This outfit is complelely shady and needs to be shut down.
ORDERED A KODAK V550 3HR`S LATER RECIEVED CALL
FROM RUDE SALES PERSON TRYING TO SELL MORE
TOLD HIM NO HE CANCELLED MY ORDER
they are rude and obnoxious...they will not let you order a camera unless you agree to extra add-ons...if you refuse, they rudely say they are cancelling the order and hang up on you....
I called today to order a Casio camera. The guy said it came with no warranty due to their low price and that they bought the camera at a special low price from Casio based on that premise. I said OK. He made me verify that I understood it came with no warranty. I said OK. He tried to sell me extended warranties, batteries, memory, etc. I said I wasn't interested. He said he would be glad to ship me a broken camera for which I would have no warranty recourse. I hung up. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

I just had a similar bad experience with these guys. For the record, they also go by digitalnerds.com. I cancelled my credit card. They called me 15 times within about 5 minutes after I finally hung up on them.
THEY ARE CROOKS AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They make you call them to confimr your order. Pressure you into buying overprice accessories then cancel your order when you dont!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!!!
They also go by Stargate photo!!!!!
Buyer Beware stargatephoto.com
My wife tried to order an extremely good priced Casio EXILIM EX-Z1000 advertised from everyprice.com that gave stargatephoto.com as one of the best priced sellers. When you call stargatephoto.com to confirm your order suddently the camera is a refurb and they try and pad the order. Then when she said I would like to think about it they told her "go f#@k yourself!" everyprice.com gave them a great rating of 5 I believe. Needless to say we went back to newegg.com and found a good price on the ex-z850 for a little more but from a very reputable place that I frequently purchase at.
Best regards,

Total SCAM Artists!! I ordered a camera from them and when they called me to verify my credit card (because of the "all the credit card fraud"!!!) they tried to get me to buy a very expensive battery which I refused. The next day I checked my order and they had cancelled it! They would not reply to my e-mails about the cancellation so I called them. They answered the phone but when I started to ask about my order they went silent and would not reply to me!! DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!
I tried purchasing a Powershot A80 online that Wawa had advertised at a reasonable price. After completing the online credit card information I was instructed to call to "confirm" the order. During my call to them their sales rep tried to sell me additional accessories at an inflated price, which I refused to buy. I was then informed by the rep that actually the camera was not available. Typical bait and switch. It cost me an hour of my time.
My mom tried to purchase two cannon cameras from these guys, and they treated her terribly! She called to confirm her order and they tried to sell her a bunch of extra stuff. She said "No thanks" ... and then they asked why she was being so stubborn. She explained she just wanted the cameras and said she didn't think that spending 300 bucks was being stubborn. The guy ended up calling her the "b" word and when she tried to cancel her order, he told her that was a bad idea b/c he had her credit card number and he would use it all over the internet. When she called the next day to lodge a complaint, they hung up on her twice. I'd pay a few extra dollars and go somewhere else, where you'll be treated like a human being!
I'm the mom who tried to place the order with WAWA. I have filed a complaint with the NY Attorney General's office suggesting they investigate this outfit. PLEASE, if you have had the same experience, do the same. Maybe if enough angry consumers complain, these guys will be prosecuted. You can download the proper form at:

Had similar experience and have reported them as you suggested. Hindsight is after all 20/20. Shame on me for not checking them out first. Years of internet shopping without incident led me to be complacent. I am so sorry now and concerned over my credit card information. They hang up on me and attempting to reach them be email gets returned as undeliverable because their box is full. HA! Hopefully if we all contact the AG's office they will be able to do something. I invited the AG's office to use my information and make their own call to them. Thank you for your suggestion.
Okay guys, I dealt with these guys in early November, people have complained to the AG and they are still operating here in mid December, threatening people, etc. Everyone who has had a problem with them and their affiliated companies and has had a bad experience needs to start sending letters to the press and giving their stories, i.e., the Chronical, Post, Times, etc. I have been told that there are a lot of people that are now going to the press..mass makes motion..so lets do it!!! Thanks!!
