Pentium M processor vs. Core Duo

by ProbuSoft - 6/21/06 5:30 PM

How do the Intel Pentium M 760 processor (2.0 GHz) and the Core Duo 2300 (1.66 GHz) compare? Which is faster?

The Intel Duo Core will be significantly faster. In addition it will be able to run multiple programs more easily, and it is more energy efficient.

Here's why :

1. Optimized instructions set + SSE3 instruction sets.

2. Optimized for multi-threaded applications ; optimized for multi-tasking

3. Better performance-per-watt ratio

I have it and it runs very good. Twice faster than the Pentium M 1.60 GHz for my father's Dell Latitude D600 ( mine is clocked at 1.66 GHz ).
