What a horrible day no drag racing, or N.A.S.C.A.R. After 6 months and 12 hour days, It got dimmer .dimmer them BAM. Anyway have any of you had early lamp failure? Also I understand that Toshiba has extended there lamp warrenty to 2 years? Also is there better lamps than the factory lamps? Also why do t.v.s blow up on Sundays? and cars only break down when you are 5 million miles from the nearest town? And what did folks do before radio? I think I will go buy a Sony ha ha have a nice weekend stewart
Stewart just had to radttle your cage.
All my lamps are working well, but then I do not have any flat panel HDTVs with lamps or color pin wheels. ha ha. and you have a nice weekend.
Marc
I can only say one thing Stewart....
YOU SHUOL'VE GOTTEN AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND YOUR BULBS WOULD'VE BEEN COVERED.
Jimmy
I've been through 3 lamps so far. On my 4th now. I was covered under the 2 year extended warranty for 2 more years.
You should've gotten the 5 year extended warranty.
I bought the extended warranty for my Toshiba 52HM84 HD-Ready tv from Best Buy. I already went through one lamp and I am pretty sure its only a matter of time before the other one burns. My question is the following:
Do you know if Best Buy orders the lamps directly from Toshiba or do they keep them in stock?
Also, someone mentioned that Toshiba extended the warranty on those lamps, is it true, or is it misinformation?
Thank you,

Toshiba sent me a new upgraded lamp in 2 days (great customer service)They also told me that lamp warrenty is extended two, 2 years. most MX and HM Toshiba lamp were factory defective The new lamp is much brighter and has a blue tint to it and gives a perfect color balance, I now run my brightness and contrast at 45% and lamp power to low and still the picture is super bright. For you folks that have a hm or mx Toshiba go to toshibas site and click on your model # there you will find out if you have the defective lamp have a nice day all stewee
Although I haven't had a need to have my bulb replaced after 4 months of tv usage, I'll definitely make sure that Best Buy doesn't stiff me and get me a generic bulb. If I buy a Sony tv, I expect a sony bulb to go in there as a replacement.
