Its much better on the eyes than my old CRT
I HAVE A 17" SONY LCD
I have a Dell Trinitron 19 inch CRT monitor, and love it. The colors are great. But, I would probably upgrade to a flat panel LCD if and when I get around to it.
I've had my Samsung for a number of years. I would love to get a Dell 2405FPW, but this one doesn't seem to want to die. I've even spilled coffee on it. LOL!
I first started with the two ViewSonics (PF790 and GS790) on two computers, but they both moved side-by-side when I was given an older Dell.
I run them from an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro in an extended configuration. It is simply a great set-up to work with Photoshop Element or on multiple documents.
I did increase the power supply to 420W.
Last year, I found a bargain at Staples - a Proview PL-913s LCD for a great price of $278 dollars. I have not regretted that purchase yet. Along with an ATI 128 megabit graphics card, the display is excellent.
I use my computer to fly via flight Sim with friends on line. The 18 inch Microtek was all I could afford a couple of years back. Its a fantastic piece of equipment and so much better than the CRT model that came with my system. I may trade up to a bigger model later, but it won't be because there is any thing wrong this one.
I use an Olevia 26 inch LCD TV, HD ready. It sits atop my desk, considering mounting it on the wall. The games, the games. Everything looks good.
I'm still using a 19" CRT- a KDS VS-195e 19" CRT to be exact. It has a very good display, with .22 dp and lots of sharpness and brightness. It cost me $120 several years ago, when they were still going for $300 or so new. I know I could pick up another used 19" monitor now for $50 or less, but I just don't feel the need for the extra screen area. Hopefully, this monitor will last at least a couple more years, then I might start thinking about a 19" or larger LCD display. Of course, I haven't read the other answers yet, so I may wait and see.

19" Sony LCD
21'' widescreen with multiple inputs... so I can use it to view my dvr and tv as well as my activities on my computer.
I love it! It is fantastic for displaying four windows of decent size. It was my option over having a wall of two-four monitors in front of me and running extra software to manage them.
:o)
Con!
I currently use a Dell UltraSharp series 17" LCD. I game and burn/edit dvd's frequently so I was hesitant at first. My LCD replaced a 17" Dell CRT. The contrast ratio and response time of the Ultrasharp convinced me to try. One other thing of interest is "yes", using DVI made a difference. I have the option of using both VGA or DVI and DVI made my text noticebly sharper. My video card is a ATI 9250 128meg with VGA,DVI,and S video outputs. Gaming is smooth, video is very clean, no going back.
IT'S GREAT
I love this big HD setup but a screen this size uses a lot of power. D
