If you want your credit card used by people other than yourself go ahead and order from this ripoff dealer. Got a bunch of charges on my visa from Turky after a wa wa digital purchase. BEWARE!!!!!
Could happen! I hope not! What a shame to have it happen to anyone.
There are quite a few bogus dealers out there.
My suggestion is to post to CNET Digital Digital Camera Forum and ask about the dealer.
I did last week and kiddpeat and Joe Randolph clued me in on one dealer that was listed with Amazon's web-site.
Easy enough to ask in place of getting burned!
Just ask. Especially at Christmas time. Not too far away thinking of gifts.
Joe Randolph and Bob Proffitt (MODS), have an extensive list of bogus dealers and camera shops not to deal with.
Just ask them. Simple.
Better than being burned!!

Big scam ahead, after ordering on line, they call me to ask more info about my credit card, after 5mn of discussion, i refusesd to get extra warranty from them so they told me the camera was sold out and they hang up...i cancelled my credit card right away....scam without a doubt...
Many thanx to all of you for your frankness about your experience(s) with Wawa. I was about to make an order, but thought it'd be useful to check here. Hope I can help in return some day.
I made an order with this guys. I was waiting... adn waiting... and finally figured out that the order was cancel with no reason. These guys do not belong to the civilized society.
I placed an order for an olympus D-630 and he called me to confirm the order the following day. He began quoting me these outrageous prices for additional accesories. I said I would think about it and call him later. I called him back later that day to cancel the order and got his automated answering service saying that his buisness was closed because it was not during the standard buisness hours. The advertised hours were 10am until 9pm (eastern standard time) I was on the east coast and it was about 6:30. I called him at least a dozen times all the way up until 8:30, at which point I became upset and sent him an angry e-mail. I called him the next day and he finally answered the phone. I told him that I had tried to cancel the order and he said he was busy and couldn't talk to me. Without waiting for a response, he asked if he could call me back and hung up the phone. While I sat around trying to decide what to do, he called me back moments later from what my cell phone recognized as a different number (probably one that wasn't being recorded). He flat out called me "stupid" and directly threatened me with credit card scamming and prank phone calls. I told him that I would not stand for this treatment and that I would dispute the charge to my card and he told me to go ahead and do that. "See what happens." he said. So I canceled the card, and am now in the process of disputing the charge with Visa.
I told my dad about this and he found it hysterical. He is a lawyer and he insisted that I allow him to write this guy a letter containing a comprehensive set of "reminders" about the various state and federal consumer-protection laws.
The guy is a psycho. Do not order anything from him.
I so wish I would have found this board prior to ordering with them online. They tried to upsell me to and when I wouldn't do it my order was cancelled and the product on backorder for 20 weeks. Give me a break! These very rude individuals are not from this country, they threatened to "break my head open" and called me an "idiot". I cannot even believe this place can even operate let a lone stay in business.
I urge you to do as I did and PLEASE file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau at www.newyork.bbb.org
These people actually are registered with the BBB in NY and have the following address on file in case any of you need it: Wawa Digital; 295 Avenue O; Brooklyn, NY 11230
contest the charge with your credit card company.
company. It's a bluff to get you continue with the purchase.
Kiddpeat, See my other suggestions. I listed your name for supplying a list of reputable suppliers.
It seems these scams go on all-year round!

Ordered a Canon A510, great price of $155.00. When I called to confirm received high pressure to add memory card, 256mb for $85.00, then offered 512mb for same price. When I said no he abruptly hung up on me. Found 256mb card for under $30. Waited 14 days for camera. When I called the person I spoke with told me they cancelled order because it was out of stock.
Ordered a camera online, called to confirm, was told I *HAD* to buy accessories(i.e. he absoutely refused to sell me the camera only), and he cancelled the order. Nowhere on the site is this required, the online purchase went through(no "out of stock" warning online or in e-mail). Can you say bait-and-switch? Pay the tiny bit extra to buy from someone honest.
I ordered a camera. Everything was fine until a person called from WAWA wanting to "up" the order with accessories. When I chose not to increase my order, he rudely and simply cancelled my order, accompanied by some "lip".
I do not recommend doing business with this company, unless you enjoy being chastized by a retailer.
I don't. I prefer to spend more money and enjoy the business experience.

Almost identical to the previous message, this company should not be allowed on any reputable site as a choice of retailers. If you do not want to sell an item for the price you advertise, don't advertise it for that price. It seems to to be almost criminal to conferm an order, take credit card info.,give an order conf. # and then back out of the sale when tou don't go for the overpriced extras. Also when on the on top of being rude etc. they lied about the warranty, battery needs etc. they cancelled the order and hung up.Now I am left to wonder about a company such as this with my credit card info.Avoid wawa like the plague
