Multimedia: burning movies to DVD.....system freezing up

Some software doesn't properly release memory. That appeared to be the problem in earlier versions of Sony Vegas. When memory runs out, the system hangs. You could try rendering in smaller chunks. Then reassemble the smaller number of files.
I'll give that a try too.

Then, with no apparent explaination, the program would freeze while processing/burning avi to DVD. Turned out all that was needed was an update fix that can be found at http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/download/dl_patch_375_3_ENU.html . Works just fine again - although I have to reinstall the update from time to time. I'm guessing it has something to do with good old Microsoft Windows Update.
