by tubaloth - 6/9/06 11:31 PMI also am looking into getting a new phone. One thing I would mind is having it able to do the whole e-mail/calandar thing. I have heard some of the phones charge to use any e-mail setings? is this true. How does e-mail option work on most phones?

Cell phones can generally have email addresses of their own, which look and act a lot like text messages without the length-limit.
Asking what carrier has the best signal is like asking what's the best color. I can tell you the two largest networks are Cingular and Verizon (at least, the last time I checked, maybe Sprint caught up). But, if you look at the postings on this board, there's no carrier or phone that doesn't have someone complaining about it at some point.
