whe re do i get the part ? and can i fix it myself
Where did you purchase the cable. Was it a 46" P46M103?
My 46'' Gateway plasma has done the same … no picture, green light. The Gateway rep had me basically do a “reboot” … turn the Master power off, unplug the TV for 10 seconds, plug the TV back in and turn the Master power on. From this point on, I was able to power the TV backup with a picture using the remote, but after about 10 minutes, a ghostly image would appear covering the left 1/3 of the screen. I’d turn it off, then wait a couple of days, and then turn the TV back on with the same issues happening again. This went on for a couple of weeks, and then I heard a loud "pop" and the TV went black with the scent of burning electrical parts.
If this falls within the issues you were describing and had a fix for, could you please send me the instructions as well as tell me where you got the part(s)?
HEllo,
Can you email me the fix?
Thanks

No, I have had no luck finding any burnt out boards or connectors. I have tried to get local repair guys interested with no success either. I use a vcr to change channels and a bose receiver for volume comtrol, but I still have to recall menu to change channels...

Both Cruzin85 (post #115) and Glacierpilot (post #117) have mentioned that they have (or might be able to) fix the problem with the 46" (P46M103) display. Is this confirmed? I read through this whole thread and have not found details to the solution except for the 42" burnt connector problem.
I have a 46" with the same problem that everyone else reports "powers on [led] but no picture".
If someone has repair information details, please contact me at dlibman2005@gmail.com.
Thanks.
I have the same problem with my TV so I opened the back cover to see if there was an obvious problem. I could not see any damage. I started disconnecting power leads on the board to see if I could locate the problem. I am able to disconnect the Y sustain power connection and get a picture and sound. The picture is of course the picture is not good. I'm not sure if the Y sustain board is bad or if the Y sustain board is causing the power supply to fail. Any suggestions?
I have a 46" plasma GTW-P46M103 as do most here.
What i found out is that the "TRANSFORMERS" on the power boards are bad, as in dirt cheap!!!! If you put your ear down next to the power board you can hear the transformer "hissing".
I am pulling out the power board and replacing the transformers and filters. I have a friend that works for ITT, and it took him 3min.s to find the prob. with this TV.
SO HERE IT IS-HAVE A PERSON WITH LOT'S OF BRAINS REPLACE THESE PARTS ON YOUR BOARD, and your plasma "should" work, mine did.
Hi, I read your post about your gateway plasma tv. I am trying to find
a part on the y-sustain board, a diode marked v633. If you have any info
on this part please let me know.
thanks,
larryc
