Another user's post reminded me of something that probably comes in at second actually: I can't delete songs directly from my mp3 player, so just like that other user with their SanDisk Sansa m260, my c150 gets a lot of podcasts kept on there for too long before I can get back to my computer.
James your cnet review was right on the money. Great player with LOTS of functionality but the navigations buttons (up, down, left, right) are too small being next to the plastic scroll wheel. The plastic scroll wheel doesn't have a good tactile feel. And I did hit the record button for voice, accidently, a few times.
Otherwise, a good MP3 player and video capable (tiny but well-lit screen). I was able to watch video podcast from DL.TV and diggnation. DVD VOB's over 4 GB didn't convert right (I think there's a file limit).
cheers, g
I love my iPod and I am totally happy with it, but there are a few complaints that I have with it. For one, it doesn't have an FM tuner. What's up with that? Another thing is its short battery life. I can understand the short battery life with the video playback, but the music playback is unacceptable. Also, I have a black iPod. That thing marks up so easily with prints. I have to wipe it off daily. Other than those few things, there isn't too much else that I hate about my iPod.
1. The most annoying thing of this player are the rewind/skip and fast forward/skip buttons. They are too small to use. The fast forward buttons sits in between the play button and menu button It is extremely hard to locate it. If you go too close to the top you click the play button, if you go too close to the bottom you click the menu button. It drives me insane, especially when driving.
2. The other thing I hate about this player is the lack of accessories.
Although these are big issues that would warrant a change to IPOD, the specifications of The Zen Vision M far exceed the Apple player. If I would change it would be to another brand like Toshiba.
Thing I hate about my 4th gen white ipod
1. short battery life
2. the one way direct of sync
3. the fact that I cant stream not save my songs through my xbox 360
4. now that apple does podcats why is it in my library and podcast folder why not just the podcast folder the same goes for video too
5. The fact that in 3 month after I bought my ipod they came out with a color ipod and then 6 month later they did a video ipod all happen in least that a year since I bought mine.
6. did I mention the short battery life
7. When in the podcast or any menu that is not music why can’t it play one after the other why do I have to make a special play list to do this?
8. Apple’s DRM so after purchasing over 100 songs now I am forever tied into the apple mp3 if I don’t what to go to jail or get fined.
Regarding #8 on your list: Take a rainy afternoon and burn your AAC files as audio files to a CD-RW, then rip the CD-RW back to your computer as a 320 kbps MP3. Erase the disc, do it again, until your 100+ AAC files are now MP3 files. Feel free to use the AAC files on your iPod (I do), but it's nice to be able to use the MP3 files on my 3 other non-iPod DAPs, and when the RIAA in their infinite wisdom refuse to renew Apple's licensing rights and they disable your AAC files (don't think it can't happen; look at what happened in the Netherlands), you'll have copies of the music that you actually paid money for.
Even better, use allofmp3.com for your downloading needs. You actually get to choose the file type, bit rate, no DRM, and it costs about 1/10th of other download sites. Feel free to debate the legality of allofmp3.com all you want, but I'm past the point of caring about the RIAA.
Incidently, off-topic, but regarding the RIAA's recent lawsuit with XM, claiming that the ability to record satellite content decreases incentive to buy music (umm, I didn't think that I HAD to buy anything). I have bought approximately 100 albums of artists I've heard on XM, but thanks to the RIAA's heavy-handedness, they won't ever see those royalties, since the money is now in Russia (site of allofmp3.com). If they had relaxed, I probably would have actually bought the physical CDs or a download from iTunes or Napster. Oh well.
every thing you wrote i know i have to do it but man is is going to be a pain. to the RIAA this is how DRM inconvenence people when we have to circumvent copyright laws just to fit our need that mean is not good and you need to try something else and at this point i really dont care anymore.
The only thing I hate about my Sansa M250 is that after adding new tracks, the rebuild of the music information causes the track you were listening to goes back to the beginning of the file! Going back to the start of an hour-long podcast is a real pain.
Other than that, I'm pretty happy with my player.
The only thing I hate about mine is how it seems to freeze up and respond slowly to my commands. Also, the volume control is subpar.
I have one huge fault, and one annoying fault about the av500
huge issue: the system crashed when the battery was half charged, and all it shows on the screen is the welcolme screen when you hold the power button! i sent it back, got a new one in a month, and it happened again in 2.5 months! i have sent it back and am waiting for it's return.
annoying fault: it is supposed to change channels on a tv, but it will not do it for a tv, only for cable box, sattelite reciever, or vcr. i sent in a complaint, and they straight out told me that the auto channel changer is not compatible with tvs, so i have to do it myself.
Here's what I hate-
1. Freezes at random moments, like on a long roadtrip, and I can't find a pin to reset it.
2. You can never find accesries at a local store, unless you want to attemp to make iPod accesories (the only ones anybody sells) fit it. Basically you have to internet shop for it.
3. I always have to say "my mp3 player" because I can't say my iPod, and if I say "my zen", no one knows what I'm talking about.
As you can see, 2/3 of these are because mine is a lesser known brand
Its great, but theres a few things missing:
>More GEQ choices
>Different USB output, current is too flimsy
>Video Capable
I believe that no matter what player we have, there will be things we do not like about it.
