What's the number one thing that keeps you occupied during long airplane trips?
Computing (tell us more)
Crossword puzzles
Gaming on portable devices (using what?)
Listening to music (using what?)
Reading
Sleeping
Watching movies (using what?)
Writing
Counting the hairs on the person's head in front of you
Others (what is it?)
DVD Videos
Yep, I watch movies on my lovely Cowon A2 with 10 hours of video juice, 18 audio. =D
Keeping my daughter occupied so she does not bother anyone around us! There is no rest for a parent on a plane! Unless she falls asleep. Then I read.
I don't fly. I drive. Driving occupies my time. I try to stay at motels that have WiFi access because I hate dial up.

There is no better way to pass the time on a long flight than to listen to your favorite tunes on the best music player... the iPod. For international flights, I can take the full-sized 40GB model but for cross-country routes I prefer the smaller Nano.
The JBL Onstage system is great for listening to music and passing the time away in hotel rooms and it is small enough to throw in a suitcase.

It souds like you are sales person for i-pod. They are nice if you have to have what the fad is and at what cost. I have a 1.5 gig player that cost $50.00 (sales are great) and it holds around 300 songs. The i pod is what $400.00 and the Nano is $200.00. I sing just as loud as i-pod users if not louder when I listen to 1.5 gig $50. player that sits in my pocket since I don't care if people see it. If you use the i pod for storage is one thing but not just for music. And by the way 2 of my kids have i pods but I didn't buy them and my 1 son doesn't bother with it so much anymore after the i pod fever wore off. Enjoy your i pods you have earned them.

I know it's hard to believe with the precedent set by Windows, but sometimes, things are popular because they're good.

Which is wonderful if you have 300 songs, but if you've got some 1,600 CDs, a bit more storage is a help. On a plane, I love being able to watch a couple TV shows and a movie, then tip my head back and flip on the tunes.

What's the half-life on iPod Fever? I've had a variety of 'Pods over the past four years with no complaints yet.
Until this year I read books or magazines on flights. Then I bought a laptop. On a flight from Houston to San Diego I broke it out and watched Batman Returns. I really enjoyed it and it made the flight really short for me. But, it PISSED off the person in the middle seat next to me to the point and unbeknownst to me she mostly stood in the aisle for the whole trip. So I can see both sides. I know I would NOT like someone to do that to me now that I think about it. I definitely do not want cell phone access on planes for the same reason.
So I suggest the airlines supply noise-canceling headphones on request and blindfolds for the non-techies who fly so I can entertain myself. Am I bad? ![]()
Why pass the time when it can seem like no time has passed at all?!
I just get very little sleep before a flight, and then let myself get knocked out on the plane.
When I wake up, 8 hours are gone without any problem - and I don't have to tire the battery on my music.
When i can i like to be part of the personnel in the cockpit
Escorting Kids to the restroom during critical parts of the in flight movie.
I am in a flying lull right now, but my laptop will be standard for me. (I 'll probably watch movies while flying)
I used to read and take pictures while flying

using my Sony CLIE UX50 with Pocket Tunes 3, a 2 Gig Memory Stick and all the WMA files that will fit on said stick. Through my Aiwa noise cancelling headphones.
If I get really bored, I fire up a rousing game of Bejeweled!
Now that I have a MP3 Player, My trips to the Dominican Republic will be good...
4 hours of non-stop music is all I need...
Maybe I'll fall asleep, but that's ok...
