I have a litte bit of a twist (actually a big one). I am (or was)running it on a dual-boot single partition Win2k pro and advanced server system...Don't ask. I can't seem to get it all the way off on the server side. Tried regedit and it worked on the pro side, but I can't seem to get off the server side. It won't let me blow away of some of the registry keys.
I don't suggest that you use the windows admin tool. But I do suggest you use the windows install wizard. Don't let the linksys install doit. I found deeeeeep on the cd the wizard for this install.
Heck I have tried everything might as well try this. Please send.
By the way, I have three of these bogers and all of them flage errors in the event viewer...I guess you get what you pay for.
Thanx
I'm trying to uninstall the WPC54G wireless adapter drivers from an old Win98 PC so that I can reinstall them. As I see from all the posts, this is not an uncommon problem. Can you please sent me the uninstall utility; I'd be immensely greatful. Thanks!
T.
I had the same problems and I also could hardley understand the Linksys help reps. I stated to use my old card which works fine but I am interested in the uninstall utility from Linksys.
I would appreciate it if you could send it to me at nosnil14@gmail.com
Thanks,
Dan Linson
I see I am not alone in this issue, and am having as much success with the Linksys tech support as I've had with not aging. However, I feel myself growing older by the second when dealing with them. Please, if anyone out there still has a copy of this Uninstall Utility program I would be eternally grateful for a copy.
Thank you in advance.
I've had no success uninstalling on my pc.
Please send me the uninstall utility. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Running Windows XP Pro with SP3 and my Linksys card showed an error. Linksys technical support suggested that I reinstall the software. Upon trying to reinstall the software the dialog box stated I had to uninstall the software first. For some reason that failed and now I can no longer reinstall or uninstall the Linksys software. I have tried various registry cleaners (CCleaner, RegCleaner) and tried to manually remove all references to Linksys and Wireless adapter from the registry but some entires will not delete. I have spend hours searching for the Linksys Uninstall Utility because Linksys will not give it up. I have tried working with Linksys on their chat, email and telephone but they will not tell me how to remove the software manually. All they will say is to use the uninstall or the add and remove from the control panel. I have explained that these do not work and that I am now stuck in an endless loop.
Please, Please help me through this as this should not be a big deal but Linksys is making it so.
I simply need to remove the software so I can reinstall the software and get back my system.
Thanking you in advance for any and all technical support.
Whatever you do don't call technical support - I have never dealt with so many incompetent people! Technical support is in India - they don't know have a good command of the english language.
Their documentation off their web site says to disable Windows Wireless, but when you talk to them they say to use Windows Wireless.
They DO NOT HAVE A GLUE.
I disabled their software and used Windows XP wireless and it works fine.
Ty
''I disabled their software and used Windows XP wireless and it works fine.''
Works for me, too.
Is there a utility within Win98SE that will work if the Linksys software is disabled? Is there a generic utility that can be used instead of the Linksys since it seems to be causing all the problems?
Linksys instructions tell you (these instructions can be downloaded at Linksys's web site):
Windows XP has a built-in configuration
tool. To configure the Adapter
using the Wireless Network Monitor,
you need to disable Windows XP
Wireless Zero Configuration. Follow
the instructions in Steps A-C.
However, their technical support says if you use Windows XP to use Microsoft's built-in configuration tool for Wireless Network.
I think Linksys needs to get their act together !
