I have an HP Media Center PC - m1050e and absolutely LOVE it!! I have had for about two years. I also have a Media Center Extender in our family room to wireless connect to my Media Center Computer in our upstairs bedroom, and it works great! Record just the shows my kids like to watch, and then we watch them when they are allowed their "tv time". It's pretty reliable too (rarely, I may need to reboot the computer, or reset the Extender, but considering it's streaming wireless video, it works great!). I think it's one of Microsoft's best kept secrets and actually is a better solution than Apple's "Front Row" technology (as there is no "renting/downloading" from Apple store or RIAA issues). I also like I don't have to pay a monthly fee like TiVO, but can "freeze" live TV etc.
I really don't want to watch TV on my computer, it's not practical (based on where the computer is located). But watching TiVO-style TV or recorded TV in our family room, connected to the PC in our bedroom is GREAT!
