the possible mp3 players up for battle are:
-ipod 30GB Photo
-Toshiba gigibeat 40GB
-Creative Zen Sleek Photo 20Gb
-Creative Zen sleek 20GB
-Creative Zen micro photo 8GB
-iRiver H-10 20GB
i am currently looing for features such as user friendly interface, ease of use, HDD size, other random features like mic/radio, user friendly software
i would really appriciate ur help-i did post one like this before but i liked some others too
ALSO< if u no any good hard drive mp3 pllayers for near $200, then feel fre to list them
thanx in advance
I would recommend you an Archos mp3...
even though 1 died on my (warranty time) I think they are much superior mp3/pvp player on the market....
Archos Gmini 402... is considered pvp but its screen of 2.2 in. makes me think different... Thats the one I recommend to you... it has so many features you wont choose wrong... (mp3,wma,wma protected player/ video player/ photo displayer/ voice recorder/ usb host for cameras, pen drive etc......
If you buy the remote control accesory, it can play fm radio....
And the interface is great, really easy to use and you can delete, rename, and move or copy files
the reason i eliminate the others:
gigabeat: good player, but hard interface to learn, TERRIBLE software. well, it's not THAT bad, i guess, but its the worse of the ones up there.
normal sleek: obsolete compared to sleek photo
microphoto: you can get the 20gb sleek photo for cheaper, if you look hard enough
H10: weak player in general. although it may be better with the release of WMP11. still, I don't recommend it.
the reasons to get the sleek photo over the ipod:
better looking(in my opinion)
much cheaper
fm radio
voice recording
sounds better
custom EQ
doesn't scratch as easily
not like everyone else :-P
3 methods of transferring, one of which is drag and drop, and another is WMP
the reasons to get the ipod over the sleek photo:
higher capacity
accessories are infinite
easy sync with iTunes
click wheel(many feel its a pro, i dislike it)
photos look better
i think they're the same thickness. the sleek may be a little thinner, but its not much. i don't think you can go wrong either way.
As you are making your decision please consider your customer service (CS) options. I've bought 4 Micro Zens in the past 2 years, each one has had a problem with the headphone jack which caused static during playback. In addition, 4 of my coworkers have had the same problem. All 4 were returned to creative and fixed. Lets forget about that issue, recently, the same problem occurred. Since my last contact, Creative has changed their (CS)policy, after the 60day warrantee period you must call a tutor for 12.95 for someone to talk to you about the issue. I have been attempting to call someone for two days. As a result, I'm looking at an APPLE or Ria. Be careful
