I had an ipod for 2 years which died, so I decided to replace it with the creative zen vision m. BUT all my music is in iTunes as mp4 files, how do I convert to mp3 to get it on the creative? I tried burning to cd, then ripping the cd back to mp3, but at this rate it will take FOREVER, and all the id tags are lost! Is there an easy way to do this???
This is probably already posted somewhere, because I can't be the only one with this problem, but I did a quite a few searches and couldn't find the answer anywhere. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
I don't know of a specific converter for that file type, but I've used audio converters before, and although it can take a while for your whole library, you can just queue everythig up and the converter should be able to take care of things for you.
My recommendations for finding an appropriate converter: http://www.google.com/search?hs=IXW&hl=en&lr=&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=mp4+to+mp3+converter+audio&btnG=Search
Goto www.tunebite.com and purchase the software. You can run a demo if you want but it is the best $17 you'll spend on your music collection.
i forget the exact process, but iTunes will export your entire library as MP3 files. In fact, I think it's on Apple's site. If not, simply google it. Simple process.
there is a good site on zen players, zen vision m in particular:
http://www.epizenter.net/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?1070
In case this does not explain things clearly they also have forums there. Conversion between various MPEGs make take some time, so your best option is to leave PC on for the night so that you are done with it in the morning. Good Luck.
select the songs you want with CTRL and CLICK. (or artists/albums/genres - click the browse button to show these - upper right corner of library)
then head into the "advanced" menu (top left) and click "convert selection to mp3" and wallah! but if you are doing this to your whole collection it will take time!
also if you plan on doing this, go into edit > preferences > "advanced" tab > "importing" and "burning" tab to tweak the settings you want when converting
hope that helped!
I did not know that myself, but does it also converts songs purchaced from the iTunes music store?
check out tunebite.com
Free programs that are capable of doing this:
dbPowerAmp - easy to use, rightclick -> convert to sollution
foobar2000 - Advanced software with many options.
All the answer you need or will need on your new ZVM will be available at www.epizenter.net . And the people there are Very very friendly.
Burn to CD with iTunes. Then, rip with RealPlayer having set it to create mp3's. RealPlayer will read the CD-text, insert correct ID3 tags, and organize into folders. And, it's really fast, like 4 minutes per CD. Then, your music can be played on any mp3 player you like.
