Issues with passwords

by bonifaxancheyta - 5/16/06 2:55 PM

I have two partitions on my hard disk, the first C: had XP but with problems in ini files I tried to repair the OS with rescue CD somehow I still can't boot from C: anyway I installed win XP on D: and I can actually boot from there, the real problem is that when i try to take my documents on partition C: to partition D:, it say's acces is not permisible (or something like that), i know it's because i have a password on my account, but the problem is that there's nowhere i can type it to acces my own old documents, i have administrative rights on computer so what can i do?
If a need a third party software which can I use?

I signed as administrator and i can see my documents in F: but not those that are in C:, i think the problem is that the administrator is other, even if i know the admin password in C: I'll can't get permissions to acces those folders, the only way is booting with C: , but that's my problem C: cant boot, somehow I fix the problem in a funny way, i used the backup tool of XP to back up the folders in C: that i can't acces, so i back up them, restore them and guess what? XP protection is gone!!!. Microsoft sholud fix this things

You appear to be confusing permissions with ownership.

You can't change permissions till you take ownership.

XP dropped a load of learning on everyone. Try again.

Booting the computer into Safe Mode and then using Windows Explorer to find and move the files you are after??

I hope this helps and good luck!
