Ever since I installed Microsoft's SP2 (I'm almost positive that is when the problem began), I get an "Out of Scan Range" message during the boot-up process. The message displays until the Window's XP Loading screen appears then doesn’t return until the next boot cycle.
This error becomes a problem when I want to run a scandisk, edit bios setting, boot to DOS, etc. I think the problem may be the result of my video card's compatibility with SP2 (ATI Radeon 9600XT, driver: 6.14.10.0311 (March 2006)). I've read display .ini files may help but I'm not sure what that means.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

The message means the video signal is out of range or "off". Such is seen on many systems during boot and not abnormal or in need of fixing.

Yes, you're right. It's not technically an error message. Nevertheless, after some additional Windows Updates and a video card driver change, the problem was corrected. Thanks for the info though.
