I use the Windows wallpaper called ''Ripple''. It came with XP.
I use that one because it's simple and it doesn't obscure my icons and their text. NOT because it's from Microsoft. Oops, I used a "bad" word! ![]()
I may be tempted to use wallpaper if I ever strike it rich enough to purchase a super high speed, lots of memory machine. At the moment I like my old P3 to have as little work to do as possible so it runs flat out.
No Wallpaper, no screen-savers, no auto-run for CDs (data or audio), everything running in 'classic' mode, no desktop full of icons, no icons on the bottom-right of the screen and no auto-startups of anything that I 'may possibly need sometime and want it to start 2 second quicker'. If I want something running... I click and icon. No whistles and bells for me thanks, just high speed basics.
My favorite photo is an overhead (air shot)of my home town-Honolulu, HI which greets me eery day even though I am far away. It can make me smile on the COLDEST days!
My favorite screen save is Flight view which allows me to watch planes travel the country

I use artwork from around the world. My favorites are Norwegian paintings of nisse and gnomes, especially in "dead of winter" farm scenes. Rosemaling is also favored. The museums of the world hold a wealth of possibilities, each to their own taste, that are easily stored and used. And the best flora options are found in seed company photos of their offerings.
It has his picture and reads, if u don't watch 24, YOU DON'T KNOW JACK! COOL, lol available on 24 website.
Kiefer as Jack Bauer... yum. ![]()
The Republican Party makes it available on their web site. Right now he is the quintessential American President with American ideals and a determination to protect this country against all enemies; both external and internal.
I have a picture of Halle Berry topless from the movie Swordfish.
On one computer I have a sunset my daughter took when she was studying in Australia. My lap top has the wonderful picture of the Andromeda Galacy, which I found on either a NASA web site or a Hubble Space telescope site.
I am not to sure which. Each of these sites are fabulous for pics. They can all be reached from my web page which links to an eclectic collection of STUFF.
STUFF of interest to some, none or many:

My own digital pictures which I change from time to time.
I have Webshots its really nice and you can download all you want .You pay once a year,or you can down load 5 pict free a day.
Quite frankly I don't see any real need for wallpaper on my pc. I am more interested in something of interest from the internet I watch.
I use the "Ripple" that is one of Windows pre-installed backgrounds. I use it because it's simple and icons don't blend into it.
I have many nice backgrounds but icons blend into them, so I "default" to the Ripple background.
Right now i have my computer set to change the desktop every minute, i hvae pictures ranging from nuclear explosions, to pitrues of my favorite cars, Konigsegg CCX or the Bugatti Veyron (worth a look at by the way) to this one which is hillarious http://image-cache.boostcruising.com/database/readersphotos/files/WiLL20050829170232funnyfile1.jpg
also included pictures of Tila Tequila.
to sum it up i use anything that'l tickle my fancy
Peace out
