Like I said before

to which you did not react.
I think the most efficient pay as you go plan is with T Mobile. You add $100 once a year, cost comes to 10 cents per minute, no daily charges. No need to add every month or two. Only when you need to, provided it is once a year.

Cingular vs Virgin Mobile prepay?

by Big Steve - 5/21/06 1:05 PM In reply to: Like I said before by hh

If I did go with Cingular and not Virgin Mobile which model or models of new phones offered by Cingular would you personally recommend that I consider? Since Cingular's refurb phones carry only a 90 day warranty; I think I'll avoid buying a refurb model phone.

Virgin Mobile

by Tazz57 - 5/25/06 11:28 AM In reply to: Virgin Mobile by r.r.mackenzie

I agree i have been using Virgin Mobile for around 3 yrs started with the K7 this last Xmas05 i upgraded to the MTV Slider se47 the xmas befour that 04 i bought my wife the K9 my parents have the K10 witch i dont like this model because it took me upto 30 min, to add $ through the cell phone my se47 , old K7 & my wifes K9 i can add $ to our acct in a mater of about 15 seconds or LESS..in over 3 yrs there has been 1 time the VM system was down and i had to call VM to update... I like VM & there phone's you talk you pay you dont talk you DON'T pay BUT you will need to do the 90 day (3 months) no mater what even with the ann $90 card ..And dropped calls i think i have had 3 or 4 in this time mostly just bad reception (bad cell area)..i have used ALL cell company's up untill i went to VM ..Virgin Mobile maybe for the younger crowd but my wife & I are 49+ old and we like the service (Great Customer service)

I've had my Virgin Mobile phone for the last two years and I love it. Funny that when I first bought it I meant to have it as an emergency phone. Then I got involved in a busy project and my phone suddenly became busy so I ended up not saving for those months that I was constantly using my phone. But that was last year. For the past year and a half I've been using my phone for quick calls to my family (I'm coming to get you now or what do you want me to pick up at the market kinds of calls). So in the end it's been a very good phone to use if you're not going to use it that much.

Cingular or Virgin Mobile Prepaid; which is better?

by Big Steve - 5/21/06 12:57 PM In reply to: Big Steve by dmstermer

CapriRocks:

Which model phone do you have with Virgin Mobile? It's not a refurb is it? If it's a refurb; how long does Virgin Mobile warranty the phone? Cingular warranties their refurb models for only 90 days.

not to worry too much

by alpharay - 5/23/06 9:47 PM In reply to: Cingular or Virgin Mobile Prepaid; which is better? by Big Steve

I have Virgin for years. Their phones have never failed me; so I dont' think you need to worry too much about that.

Also if you pick the phone that is simple ( no music or text messaging..etc). you pretty much can have it forever.

Since Virgin phones are so cheap, you should just get a new one from the store. There is no need to get a refur one.

good luck.

VM refurbished

by Tazz57 - 5/25/06 12:02 PM In reply to: Cingular or Virgin Mobile Prepaid; which is better? by Big Steve

As for refurbished ...with virgin mobile the only way you get a 30 warranty is to buy from there website >.. http://virginmobileusa.com/ .. (NEW /REfurb) or buy NEW from a vendor like Target/Wal-mart & so on

Prepaid Wireless Plan Comparison/Options

by PrepaidWirelessGuy - 9/2/08 4:48 PM In reply to: Virgin Mobile Cell Phones by *chief*

This is a great discussion. Prepaid now offers so much value, and with so many options. Expiration time for dollars/minutes added is definitely an importan item to check out. And now there are per minute, per day, per month, and unlimited prepaid plans offered by most of the major carriers. Definitely worth exploring your different options. I recently added a comparison of these plans on my site, and you're welcome to check it and/or I'd be happy to help you out in this forum as much as I can.

Cheers,
PrepaidWirelessGuy
