I use a 1GB San Disk. So far so good!
2GB - LG USB 2.0 Flash Drive
I shouldn't've considered those 2 USB drives that I'm using now as USB Flash Drives, they are harddisk but actually they are almost as small as the flash drive. If one'd consider capacity by money, the 1" or sub-1" HDD shall always be the best choice among. But we might just get one of those 32GB NAND Flash Memory-based HDD with a possible small size as a thumb drive which may get cheaper in a near future. Better still, RS-MMC/mini-SDcard are still the better size competitors to all those giants, but you'll need a reader to use them, ermm... maybe adapter is needed too.
512 Lexar JumpDrive
I use a 1gb sandisk
At the time of purchase, it was the best price available.
Up to 1GB on my mp3. If you consider iPod as a flash drive also then its 15GB.
I do not use a USB jump drive. They are expensive, unreliable, and not compatible with all PC operating systems.
For storing large files such as pictures or video, I use my CD-RW drive. I record them to a high-quality CD-R disc, using the "Disc at once" mode for maximum playback compatibility.
For the really important stuff like Word documents, Powerpoint presentations, etc. I save it the old-fashioned way--on a floppy disk. The fact that PC manufacturers make you pay extra for this important peripheral proves just how valuable it is.
I have a 1G Kingmax flash drive, I believe it's the smallest (in physical size) on the market today. I use it to transfer my Horse racing data between my Desktop and Laptop, so incase I need to ghost my 'C' drive from backup files, my current Horse racing data won't get clobbered.
I use a 1gig lexar which i like very much .loads instantly , also a 1 gig datawrite which XPpro has to search for .
512 MB
I'm trying to use a Memorex traveldrive. On it it says USB 20, on the other side 512 MB. Wow! would I appreciate some help!
That 512 tells U how big that thingy is. The USB 2.0 means it'l take advantage of the faster 2.0 USB found on many computers the last two years or so. (It should also work with older USB 1 ). You say inoperable? It dosen't do anything by itself, after you plug it in, you double-click the Computer Icon, then look for a new drive letter that you didn't have before. Then double-click that drive. then you can drag-n-drop. I hope that is what you meant by "inoperable".
Thanks for replying. Please stay with me. By inoperable I meant that no icon appears. I pug it in, nothing happens on the screen, even when I restart my computer. Thoughts?
