They record the sound with sound recorders (there are many out there, microphones and more) then back at the mix shop tie it all back together in the edit phase.

with that in mind, what software could do this kind of thing back in the ''edit shop''.....and.....
don't you think the SONY 405 or 505 with 5.1 surround is better all around for an on the fly solution ?
