XBOX 360 - 6 months lates - so why not boycott for $ drops

by jcr0911 - 5/22/06 6:26 PM

just saw a walmart commercial finally advertising the "availability" of the 360...

Is it just me or are they 6 MONTHS LATE...

It was release pre-Xmas 2005, but I have yet to see it in the stores where I could pick one off the shelf and buy it at the counter, without a "reservation" / "pre-pay"....

I just think that microsoft completely missed the market/ing with this one... At this point I can wait for a lengthy time until the price comes downs below the $200 for the full-bore hard-drive version... I dont see the NEED!

just a thought....

that is stupid. they will lose money if they sell it for 200$. so you have fun waiting; its gonna be a long and boring wait for the price drop.

Now vs Then?

You can flip the logic around...

Why would it have been better 6 months ago instead of next week? What would have been better for you personally if you could have picked one up on lauch day vs. now? You say you don't see a need now, did you then? At launch with less games and less updates did you see a greater need than now, considering there are more games, more compatibility updates and more accessories?

The whole boycotting idea may sound good in theory but now that the PS3 is priced to launch with a $600 price tag the 360 seems pretty cheap at ''only'' $400 and I expect an uptick in 360 sales.

Think before you write.

I'm going to ignore the fact that you obviously can't conjugate worth your weight in peanuts ("6 months lates," "price comes downs," my goodness man, that's horrible). And, I'm not big into video games, I think they're mostly a waste of time. But, by boycotting a product that is already selling below the price Microsoft paid to make it, you're doing nothing but putting people who CAN conjugate out of work and driving up the price of future consoles. I understand if you don't think it's worth the price, but don't organize a boycott just because you're too cheap to be lazy.

Just a thought...

Boycotts like this

by jelgert - 6/7/06 3:23 PM In reply to: dude by neronybarrios

Boycotts like this are always funny its like when someone tells you its international boycott gas day so everyone just fills up the night b4 or they just don't need gas that day point is doesn't work unless everyone does it and its something more like boycott year not day not week or even month. Anyways your probably never going to get an xbox360 for 200 bucks unless you buy it after they release their next console if you want look at the price of the ps its still 50 bucks with no games I believe it was released at 200 and that's a 150 dollar drop when its 2nd succesor is due out in November. Competition is usually what actually drives prices down not time they just are linked usually in that respect I'd expect a price drop to maybe 350 this holiday season but it will probably stay at that price for quite some time and go to 299 at the lowest eventually unless your talking 2012 or something. Anyways like they said enjoy the waiting if its really going to be that long ohhh and a side note maybe in the interest of selling more this holiday season xbox has step back their advertising money to use all around that time just a thought.
