Outlook Express 6 + Hotmail = Forbidden?

by nine8102 - 3/30/04 11:35 AM

Ok, let me start by saying that absolutely no changes have been made to my computer, no settings made or unmade, nothing new with the firewall and no downloads.

Saturday night, I was able to check my email using outlook express and it was all good.

Sunday morning, I go to check my email and i get the following pop-up box:

"Access to the account was denied. Verify that your username and password are correct"

when i click on the Details button, i also get:

Forbidden
Configuration:
Account: 1 - Nine8102
Server: http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp
User name: nine8102@hotmail.com
Protocol: HTTPMail
Port: 0
Secure(SSL): 0
Code: 800ccc33

I've checked all the settings on all accounts and they are as they should be. I even deleted and re-did one of them, to no avail.

Can anyone shed any light? Thanks!

Give it a day or two and keep trying and eventually the mail will start flowing again.

Until it does simply use your browser to access your hotmail account.

I occasionally get messages similar to that and it is a problem with the cable company. Have you called your ISP to see if they are having any problems with their service?
